Room extremely dirty Shower tray was unclean with dirt at bottom Corners of toilet and rooms full of dust Radiators dusty Window sill and skirting had not been cleaned for months Moved to a different room- Spent at least 15 minutes getting the correct key from receptionist - eventually was given a master key since they could not get a key for the room one light in bathroom not working Smoke detector missing from roof Receptionist was pleasant and helpful but requires training Gentleman on duty told us the reason for the room not being cleaned was that the housekeeper was rushed to hospital the night before but that was not substantiated by other staff Another member of staff said that the person cleaning the room had only been in post for a month so he was bound to make mistakes! The gentleman also questioned,infront of other people, why I had bar glasses in my bag - very embarrassing! I explained that the girl behind the bar who was also the receptionist said to take the glasses with me up to the bedroom Dreadful experience overall

Over booked room so ended up having single bed, TV had no Chanel’s shower had no hot water

Did the job after we’d been at wedding locally. Clean and tidy and lovely breakfast.

Hotel needs updating The bedroom was a good size but the bathroom was extremely dirty and I needed to clean myself before showering also as it’s on the Main Street was quite noisy

Rooms were dirty and looked like they had been slept in towels were dirty the whole place smelt terrible. I could not stay

\Do yourself a favour and do not book a stay in this place. The outside is grubby, and the inside has a lot to be desired. The room allocated was dark, with only tiny window to the hallway! The bed sheets were clearly not fresh, and not changed after the previous guest, the carpet dirty, and the room smelled badly. The flush of the toilet didn't work. This was the first time in my life when I checked out before even sleeping there.

The room we had was not a double room, it was more like a single room with a double bed, the room was so small we could hardly move inside. The whole place in my view was pretty grotty.

Very friendly staff. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Would stay again.

Do not stay at this hotel. They will scam you for parking fines even if you try and register your vehicle.

Arrived and waited a long time for reception - attitude was less than friendly - very abrupt. Hallways to room smelled musty. Room was like an oven and windows didn’t open. It did have fan but very noisy and unable to sleep with it on. Decor very tired and skirting boards dirty. Asked if possible for earlier breakfast, abruptly dismissed

The inn is in a quaint little village. Lovely shop. Walking trails were great.

This is an old tired hotel. Although the staff was pleasant to deal with, the hotel did not meet our expectations. The "chef" was out sick during our entire stay (3 days) so we could not eat at the hotel, or get breakfast there. Not that big of a deal since there are other options close by, but still disappointing. We were in a room where the shower drain was clogged, and seeing how short staffed they were, we just unclogged the shower drain ourselves (yes I had tools with me on holiday). Since we have stayed at this hotel in the past and enjoyed it, we figured we'd give it another go. But frankly I would suggest you look for other accommodation if you are staying in Banchory.

On arrival I was told to enter my registration on the tablet at the desk, which I did, now two weeks later I have a parking fine for £100 😡

Hotel is in a great location, check iin was quick and easy , rooms were clean and tidy

Good enough to put on early breakfast for Kiltwalk people

After booking and paying found some scary reviews but we didn’t experience any of them. B/fast value £12 each, couldn’t finish mine, good coffee. Bar service good, busy outside seating area. Some noise o/n but to be expected as we were overlooking the High street. Could do with a little attention to detail in room, paper peeling from ceiling, curtains off track in few places. Parking off street available when checking in
