Had a pleasant stay at the Atlantica in June. The room was clean, comfortable, and fairly spacious. The location was good and views from the room were pleasant. We would stay there again.

Great stay considering the circumstances

We really enjoyed our stay at the Atlantica. It’s a beautiful hotel and located right in the heart of Halifax. Great coffee shops, restaurants and shopping nearby. Halifax is a vibrant city.

Nice hotel - travelled on my own and was put in a room with adjoined room - door in my room lead to another room. That was fine as my own door locked. However, my first night there I could hear everything happening in the room next to me. They had children so assumed they were just loud and I ignored it. I was a little off put because I was travelling alone in a new city. I didn’t use air bnb to have more safety but hearing the room beside me kind of destroyed that sensation. The following two nights were great. I’m assuming no one stayed in the room beside because it was silent. I was about a 20-30 minute walk to River front and was able to explore the city a bit. The parking in the building was also handy. Then my last night I had some young adults beside me and I could hear full on conversations. I knew when they were using the bathroom and different drama situations going on in their life. I’ve never had a noise experience that bad before in an hotel, even with an adjoined room in hotel. Overall it was a good stay but avoid the adjoined rooms as they are noisy.

While Atlantica is a fine hotel with friendly and helpful staff, it is not a "tourist" hotel in terms of location. We initially assumed we could walk downtown and to the boardwalk. A helpful front desk employee disabused us of that. Getting around Halifax from the Atlantica pretty much requires a car. Once we got accustomed to getting around by car, the hotel served its purpose as a clean, well-serviced accommodation and we had no complaints whatsoever. If someone wants to be located in the waterfront action, on the other hand, this may not be their preferred hotel. Other hotel clients we met included conference attendees, families wanting to be close to people in the nearby hospital, and parents visiting university students.

The price was very high for what, I don’t know. The location was okay but it exceptional!

Hotel was great. The restaurant offered delicious food. The only complaint was the bed was a little soft. Otherwise all good.

Very disappointed in this stay. Expedia stated daily room service but the hotel stated that it was only every second day. On our 3rd day we came back and our room still wasn’t cleaned, when I called again they tried to tell me it was only cleaned after a 3 day stay. They did however send someone up. But to not even receive clean towels without having to ask is ridiculous. Also there are a lot of construction workers in the hotel who hang out at the entrance smoking weed. The smell of weed throughout the hotel was very evident. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

The rooms are recently renovated. However soundproofing is lacking so just be mindful that you may be hearing TV's and or people's conversations.

Hotel was great! Very quiet among guests. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. Lots of construction nearby so not a ton of sleeping in, but we were out exploring so it didn’t bother us a ton. Quick 5ish minute stroll to The Citadel and maybe 15 minutes to downtown food and drinks.

The room was clean, and staff were nice and responsive. Nothing special though.
