Wonderful breakfast with friendly services. Great family room. It should have an elevator.

Comfortable room with good amenities but the food at the hotel in the evenings is dreadful and overpriced.

Lovely ambience, wonderful old building, quirky and visually stunning. We really enjoyed the cosy bar, the restaurant was also very good. Easy 15 min walk to the Micklegate Bar and entry into the old town of York.

An absolute gem of a stay. Talk about old world charm meets luxury. The estate was a gorgeous. The room was adorable. The bathroom was phenomenal with a rain head shower. And the architecture was just stunning from the moment you walked into the property. Well worth the stay and be honest we should’ve stayed in New York longer than one night.

The hotel its self was lovely but certain things let it down slightly like having no tea bags in the room , no food menu in the room or even a number to contact reception . These are minor as the hotel itself is lovely

Clean room and very comfortable. A bit further out than other hotels but I enjoyed the walk!

Booked last minute at this property. Room was very good and clean Staff were professional but a bit still. Breakfast was the biggest let down. Cost was very high and the standard of food was not great. Avocado on toast was very plain and boring. Buffet was limited. Pancakes were very thin and tasteless Then being shoved in your face while you’re eating the extra 2.50 docket was rather rude. Would go again.

Lovely hotel. Staff excellent - very friendly and helpful. I was in a party of 14 and the bar in the hotel wasn't really big enough for our group, just a few small tables and chairs - but as it was summer and the weather was fine we could sit outside during the day.

Very clean and staff were brilliant

Lovely historic property just outside of the main area of town in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Rooms appear to have been newly renovated, beds were comfortable and the rooms had everything needed. Breakfast options were great. You do need to be prepared to carry luggage up a flight of stairs and make sure to arrange parking in advance.

Stayed here on numerous occasions and honestly can't fault this hotel and the staff.

Room was so small it should of been used for single occupancy. Air conditioning didn't work properly only went down to 19 degrees which made the room too hot to sleep in at night. Very disappointing

Really clean and up to date

Infrastructure needs some upgrade especially for the high prices. The family room at the attic is spacious and better maintained but the stairs are a killer! 3 floors, no elevator. The breakfast was the worse part. There was nothing. Everything was missing. For two days in a row. They should bot bother serving that to people. All and all, for the price you can get better hotels closer to the city center.

We payed extra for a suite only to find out we where in a separate building away from the hotel and as it was raining most the time we never used the hotel we had no water one morning parking was very limited my advice would book a room that is in the hotel , the room was ok but never had the experience of enjoying the amenities of the hotel The hotel had a nice outdoor area nice furniture etc our building had some old furniture uncared for good location 20 min walk to center of York

Food in restaurant could be better, very disappointing

Stayed for one night in one of the courtyard rooms. It was clean but a bit dated. The lobby was nice. It was frustrating that non-electric cars were parked at the EV chargers so I wasn't able to charge my car overnight. It would be nice if the hotel staff remind customers at check in to use the car park opposite which had plenty of space rather than parking on the allocated EV charger bays if their car is not charging or is not an EV.

Lovely hotel in heart of York City Centre

Lovely clean bedroom, bed was very comfortable. Staff lovely, breakfast was very good both mornings, nice hotel and location was fantastic only a two minute walk into the city up one road, couldn’t have been better. Unable to park at the hotel but parked for free down the road which was about a three minute walk which was absolutely fine. Would definitely use again and would recommend as the price was so much better than in the city itself.
