The chateau is still an amazing location and the building itself is very impressive, but it needs a lot of updates and service was ok - definitively not worth the cost of 1 night to stay there. For example, bathroom are very tiny, the parking lot is a mess with potholes every where and while we were told we would get a text when our room was ready, we never did and ended up back in line to find out whether it was. There are also no lines identified at the service desk, which created an issue with people cutting in front of the line and when a guest informed the employee at the service desk, she was basically told that there was nothing they could do to fix it. Unless you book for a few days and really get to use the facilities, do not stay there.

Amazing experience and great food at hotel restaurant

Extremely disappointed this time round things were not to the Fairmont Standard. The rooms are outdated, there was a problem with the air conditioning and the shower was on go slow mode and water took a little time to warm up. We headed to the pool ans Sauna area and thr Suna was filthy & dirty and the changing rooms needed attention also the gym is out dated and over used. Really disappointed & sad as its such an amazing property.

Chateau Montebello is a must-see, must-stay, one-of-a-kind hotel built entirely of logs. The central 6-sided fireplace is entrancing, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff was pleasant. We hope to be back again some day.

We had a very pleasant stay. Highly recommend.

Overpriced, But first Fairmont staff are fantastic, so no negativity towards them. Please, the Chinese bankrupt owners Evergrande sell the property so it can be renovated with long overdue maintenance before it rots away. They did a subpar renovation sometime ago to two wings only. Most likely to bring it up to fire code standards, otherwise it was slapping lipstick on a pig. Most of the reno effort was to the bathroom, the rooms itself are untouched other than new coat of paint. The 32” tv for the king delux room we had was problematic, volume kept dropping out, had to change channel to get volume back My wife enjoyed the spa, so no issue there, and the indoor pool is impressive, even though the version of heated was lake cold. Sorry montebello, we always wanted to stay but will not be back. Spending $500 a night for a mid tier room is ridiculous. I think only 2 of the 4 or 5 wings are open, which may explain, limited occupancy and not so great pricing even when marketing try’s to sell you otherwise

I asked about the piano. If I could play. Bar worker said they keep it locked so children don’t bang on the keys I would have liked to play it. However I didn’t .

If you ever wanted to sleep in a museum this is the place. I’ve never purposely spent time in a lobby but this one is just so inviting. So much character and detail everywhere. It’s truly an awe inspiring stay.

Easy check in, beautiful property

We had the most memorable stay at this hotel. It far exceeded all our expectations. Excellent food, amenities, location and service. Can’t wait to be back.

Room smelt weird , body wash was empty , room was a bit dirty on the carpets , the bed was super uncomfortable.
