I loved the old decor from years ago, but can also say they've elevated the the beauty of the hotel with renovations. I've been staying at El Convento every year (with the exception of Maria and Covid) for 10-years and will continue to to come back for years to come. Thank you

Absolute old world charm in the middle of all the action and yet our room was surprisingly quiet with the double doors shut. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends!

this is an old hotel that has been restored several times. As such, it is NOT a resort like you would get in "new" San Juan. What it doesn't have in bells and whistles it makes up for in warmth and charm. The staff go above and beyond, the location is unbeatable, and the old world ambiance makes for a wonderful stay. My only word of caution is do not drive to the hotel as there is no dedicated parking, and especially on weekends, parking can be a challenge. Will definitely stay there again!

This hotel is in Old St. Juan. It is an old convent, (17th century). There is a very large inner courtyard with shady cloisters on all four sides. The central area was full of plants and flowers and one very large old tree! A delightful place to stay and very comfortable. Excellent staff.

Great small historical 5 star hotel that once was a convent right in the heart of Old San Juan

Service was great but the room conditions were not ideal there was a water leak through one spotlight on the shower ceiling I did not sleep the entire night hearing the sound of pouring water also an awful alergie because of the mold.

The history in it and all around it is phenomenal

Hotel had a historic feel but the VIP experience didn’t feel VIP other than one bottle of wine given at check in and turn down service in the evening. The food quality of the restaurant on the property is NOT good.

Great stay

Lovely boutique hotel. Convenient location, beautiful views, very nice staff. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Enjoyed complimentary beach pass to beach hotel nearby. Highly recommend!

The hotel is old No amenities… sheets and towels were not up to par… Could not access bill or voucher for parking which is 15 minutes away !!! Checking out … they were not serviceable or cared about our voucher or bill…, Expensive hotel with no real service …:

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We could walk to many sites and restaurants. The daily wine reception was very nice.

This hotel is in the BEST location ever! It is a beautiful historical building with a really nice, relaxed vibe. However, the service really needs to improve to justify the very expensive rate and to make this hotel comparable to other luxury hotels. The front desk staff are not very helpful and every time you request something, it feels like you are a burden to the staff! The sheets are not spotless clean and we actually found spots on blankets twice! When you call the front desk for anything (e.g., extra towels, etc.) it's a hit-and-miss as to whether they will get you what you need! Overall, it's in a great location and a beautiful building but not top-notch service.

Beautiful property.

Some employees very unresponsive but Still a great location and nice place to stay. Wine hour is great but limited wine supply. Coffee needs to be improved but is free.
