－What You Can Expect－

Everest Namche Bazaar trek starts with an exciting scenic flight from Kathmandu to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla (2,860m). The airport is named after Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary who were the first climbers to reach the summit of Mt. Everest (8,848m). The airport is also known as Lukla airport, facilitated with ATMs, Airlines and various amenities. Lukla is the starting point of trek where you will walk 3 hours to the Phakding (2,610m) and spend your first overnight. The accommodation is run by local hospitable people in a tea house/mountain lodge. The lunch and dinner are usually Dal-Bhat (rice, lentil soup, veggies, meat, etc).

From Phakding, it takes 4-5 hrs to Namche Bazaar. On reaching Monjo, you will enter the southern entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. This is the first national park in Nepal to inscribed as UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites in 1979. Sagarmatha national park is the park of sacred Himalayan landscape and contains various species of flora & fauna. The park's visitor center is located in Namche Bazaar which is also most populous trading center in the Khumbu region. Namche Bazaar has several good facilities such as lodges, cafes, restaurants, banks, ATM vendors, hospital, saloon, shops as well as Nepal Army station for the protection.

Basically, Namche Bazaar is the resting point/acclimatization place for the Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes treks. And so does in Everest Namche Bazaar trek, you will spend two nights in Namche Bazaar accompanied by unique culture & lifestyle of Sherpa people. Things/activities to do in Namche Bazaar are visit Documentation Center, Museums, stupa and hiking. Yes, you can do optional hike to Syangboche airport which is the high-altitude airport in Nepal at 3,780 m. From there you can view beautiful structure of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m) and several other mountain peaks including Mt. Everest. Furthermore, you can explore Khumjung village (3,790m), one of the hidden treasure of eastern Nepal. After such day-excursions, return back to Namche Bazaar and enjoy your leisure time. You can visit souvenir shops, Irish pubs, live music bars, etc.

The longest hour of this trek is; walk 8 hours all the way back from Namche to Lukla. If required, the massage center is available in Lukla with the starting price $10. Celebrate your last night of the trekking and you know what to do. Grab a drink, enjoy and create the moment with beautiful people. The following morning, take a flight to Kathmandu where your Everest Namche Bazaar trek ends.
