It was not bad. We tried to book the room which included bathtub but that room all out so we booked 2bed room. In that room no shower gown and slippers. But when we asked they served with free. Nice service, but the view from the room, better not expect about it. The view from restaurant is good bit not from the room. I recommend the restaurant. Breakfast and lunch, both of them, better than the price. I will be back for dinner later. We went there in busiest season so paid high cost.

This place has all the aspects that could make it a winner. It's in a great spot, it has a nice distillery behind it, and it's a walk to town. Unfortunately the management is letting this place go big time. Mouldy windows, mouldy shower, big brown stains on blankets, unusable wifi, general maintenance and cleaning seems non existent. The tiled floors we gross sticky also. It's barely three stars, we never saw a staff member the entire time for check-in or out either.

Awesome spot for a weekend away. The room was clean, comfortable and the views were incredible. The spa was a standout and made it easy to relax and switch off. The whole place had a peaceful vibe and felt nice and private. Parking was easy, the staff were lovely, and the location was perfect for checking out Montville. My girlfriend absolutely loved it and honestly neither of us wanted to leave. We'd definitely stay again.

The view wasn't as shown in the room photos. The restaurant was closed all weekend and we weren't told that when we booked. The internet was patchy at best. The best part was the gin distillery next door.

The property is at a great location, only a short walk to the town shops. The room we stayed in was on the lower floor. We found it still had a great view and was very comfortable. The cleanliness of the room was great. All condiments were in the room when we arrived and topped up when the room was serviced. The gas fireplace and the spa bath were also wonderful features. Great value for your money.

We had a lovely and romantic stay at Altitude in Montville. The double showers and spa are lovely and they also provided bath salts, robes and slippers. Very comfortable and a close walk to hikes, town, etc...Nice view as well and the pizza/gin place on-site is very nice too.

Very nice

We stayed here for one night and overall had a pleasant stay, but there were a few things that could be improved. The property itself is gorgeous and the view is absolutely unmatched. The room and bed were clean and comfortable, and the setting makes it a cosy place to stay, especially in cooler or rainy weather. Communication prior to arrival was lacking. I didn’t receive any check-in details beforehand and when I called, I was told they would text them through, but they never arrived. Check-in ended up being easy as the keys were simply left out for us, though this felt a little unusual. There were also a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. The outdoor blinds on the balcony were quite mouldy and created an unpleasant smell outside. I understand Montville’s climate makes mould difficult to manage, but we had several sunny days beforehand so it felt like this could have been addressed before our stay. The shower heads are very old and need replacing — many holes are blocked and water sprays in odd directions. The showers also had visible mould which was off-putting. The toilet and vanity were clean. The TV remote batteries were dead (the restaurant kindly gave us replacements), but the TV itself is quite outdated and doesn’t support streaming services. Adding curtains would also help, as the light through the blinds woke us around 6am. With a bit more attention to maintenance and resetting the rooms, this could be a really lovely place to stay.

Great spot

The room was clean, great view, the bed was comfy, the hot tub on the balcony was a definite bonus. Restaurant staff were friendly and the food was delicious.

There is no phone connectivity from the room to the hotel reception. For in-room dinning we had to go to the reception and order there. The entry to the doom is very dark which is not a very impressive first impression. Restaurant is good though. Food is good quality. Our room says ocean view but not ocean at all.

Montville was an adventure. If one has a mobility limitation, getting around on the steep main street can be quite challenging. This was also true of the Altitude on Montville, which is built on a steep slope. The room that is equipped for disabled access is beautiful. We'd have been very happy there, but it wasn't practical to use it because a power surge during a recent storm had killed the small lift that was needed to access the room. We were given an alternate room that worked very well for us, and we are grateful that the property manager was so anxious to ensure that we were accommodated. If you need to book the Accessible Room, phone the property to confirm that the lift is in working order. There is another work-around available, but it would be a spot of bother to use it and quite impractical for a solo traveler.
