Overall, our stay was okay, mainly because the location was excellent. Everything we needed was within walking distance, which made getting around really easy. There were a few things that let the room down, though. We had booked a room with a king bed, but it was actually two single beds pushed together, which made the bed feel uneven and uncomfortable. The bathroom also had some maintenance issues; water was dripping while showering and even when using the hand basin tap. Another issue was that the window wouldn't close properly because it was missing a handle, and instead there was a screw nailed into the frame which made it uncomfortable to open and close. Which also left a small gap letting the cold draft coming into the room. The location is definitely the biggest positive, but I think the room could use some maintenance and better attention to the advertised room setup.

Likeable funky Victorian styling. Creaky floors added ambience. The huge bathroom had a bath with hand shower, bath leaked. The basin had serious cracks. Great Bistro downstairs.

The terrace Room had a lovely view but no bedside tables or reading lights. Generous sized bathroom with great shower but very limited bench space for toiletries.

Horrendous stay. Staff didn’t know we had booked. Holes in the walls. Broken bathroom tap. Blood on sheets. Broken mini-bar. Firetrucks/emergency situation at night where there were no staff available. At checkout, breakfast was offered as compensation which we did not take. Staff said some would be in contact for proper compensation. No one has been in contact.

Other than my own bed, the king-size bed we had in our room was the most comfortable bed I have slept in.

The room was small, dirty and noisy. Don't be deceived by the photos. It's a pub room with questionable stains on the seating and bedding.

The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Great location off of Daylesford’s Main Street.

Best bits: * the cafe does great wood fried pizzas on tuesday night * excellent location on main street of daylesford *. Lots of parking To improve * uncomfortable bed. Stayed in the ‘Sapphire Rooms’. My wife couldn’t sleep * when we arrived reception was unattended and no call bell. When staff memeber arrived they handed us the room key & gave us the wrong directions to the room *. There was very minimal natural light in the room. It was winter but we opened the door so we could see some views & get some light

Dark dingy room needs a paint, not enough light, ceiling globe not working, no windows, fridge not working, bathroom with a lamp by sink not possible to shave or apply makeup, Floorboards very very creaky

Room was delightful however there was a loud pump going off that interrupted our sleep which is disappointing

The hotel was beautiful and as presented, it is in a picturesque areas. Amazing place to stay for a quick getaway.

Needs a good dust

They had left a key for us as it was xmas day and no staff on .... but, the swipe key did not work! They did manage to get someone outtocode a new key a lityle over 15 mins after notifying the management

Easy check in, room was perfect unfortunately underestimated how busy restaurant was down stairs and forgot to book a table, we will know for next time.

We didn’t have a lot of interaction with staff, but the few were courteous. The room was moderately comfortable. We would have appreciated two chairs rather than assuming you can sit on the bed at all times. We were surprised that there was no window in the room which gave it a cave like feel.

Everything was disappointing - underwhelming. Very tired hotel and small room - nowhere to put belongings in room or bathroom. When shower water goes all over bathroom dangerously slippery . Bath moves . Hydronic heating not working and noise from RAC. Very dirty . No blockout blinds. No DVD player. Plastic glasses in room that were used. No detail for wi-fi or heater use.

Nice staff and good food, but the room itself was quite dirty and out of date.
