Very friendly, helpful staff. Good location, close to the CBD and Cairns Central. Tidy rooms...There can at times, be car parking issues, but it didn't affect me, as I just walked when I wanted to go into the city...

The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. I did not stay the night due to not feeling safe in the area - might not be good for solo female travellers

The young lady at the front desk was wonderful. She was very helpful and kind. The hotel has a nice pool and garden area. The rooms look tired and the bathroom shower head kept falling. The little window in the bathroom was visible to people going up the stairs. The little screen on the side of the window had No way of covering it for privacy. There are no outlets next to the beds and no phones in the rooms, so if you have an emergency, you have to use your own phone. Some of the people who stay there are sketchy and a bit scary looking. The hotel looks like it needs an overhaul and seems like it was once , a nice place to stay. I would NOT stay here again!!!

The only downside to my room is that there were no powerpoints near the bed and I had to charge my phone and headphones near the sink. Other than that the room was cool with just a fan and I didn't need to use the air-conditioning. I think the buildings must be kept cool by high canopies over the walkways or some other architectural trick. The staff were quick and efficient. I enjoyed my stay.

Tropiq is in such a great location handy to downtown shopping and the esplanade
It’s a great budget option, yes older style but well maintained with onsite staff keeping everything in order and now non smoking it is very relaxing
There’s a great pool and bbq area and plenty of food delivery options
If there’s something you are missing just ask the friendly staff at the front desk

Exceeded our expectations, clean room, great service. Basic needs met, nice pool, bbq, and service. It’s not the Hilton, but has all you need and then some!

Average hotel. Everything was functional, but not especially nice. Except the TV... the sound didn't work. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location wasn't great... clearly the dumpier part of town, about a 20-25 minute walk to the main shops, restaurants and docks. Would probably spend more to stay closer next time.

Its clean, money wise, closed to everything ,
Few minutes ride to airport, my first stay was. 2011 and its name was Rainbow hotel. Wish they open back there bar now .
