Great little historical pub

Under new management. Good meals, nice to be able to use the lounge bar to watch telly or work on the laptop. Rooms are small but functional. Beer garden must be wonderful in summer.

The unique about the place was its position! There’s very little around other than fields and sheep. The silence was deafening!! I’d describe the place as quirky! On arrival on a cold night so good to be greeted by a roaring open fire. Family running place were awesome. Lovely people. Pub food was excellent and priced well! Hotel bit tied and needing some maintenance but priced accordingly. Very little for me to complain about. I highly recommend it is you want a stay away from city noise!

Friendly little outback pub. Tiny rooms with comfy beds. Toilets and showers down the hall. Great meals at an affordable price.

Room was compact but clean. Shared bathroom not bad, few flies around. Lovely lady on reception moved her car for me when the car park was full (sorry didn’t catch your name). Decent breakfast. Ideal for a quick overnight stop, would stay again.

Staff were lovely and the basic room and sheets clean and tidy. We arrived on a hot day and the temperature in the room was unbearable given there was no in-room cooling - almost too hot to breath without opening a window. One window only opened part way and didnt admit much air. Other window didn't open. So, we had to leave the door open to try and draw cool air from the hallway into our room. As a result, other patrons could see into our room - but we had no choice to cool down. The wall heater in the room didn't work (I tested it, although we didnt need it). Also many blowflies in our room and I had to request fly spray to kill them. Flies continued to enter the room from outside because of the open window, which we couldn't close for the heat. Each of the two shared bathrooms and adjoining toilets were accessed through one door - meaning that you couldn't go to the toilet when both were in use. Waits were lengthy when others were showering. The bathrooms (showers and toilets) were very old, antiquated and the floors ended up flooded with water, literally covered. Our 3 year old daughter slipped on the floor and hurt herself. Shower water flow was poor and difficult to adjust. Poor network connectivity for Oputs users so we had to rely on wifi - which did the job. Also noticed one room had a wire hanging out of ceiling where the smoke alarm was supposed to be. Would never go back again and certainly wouldnt recommend the accommodation to others.

Shared bathrooms are dirty and no proper cleaning service. Got expired bread items for the continental breakfast (not at all satisfactory) that made us skip eating breakfast there. Unfriendly staff. Totally unhappy with this room stay. Not at all recommended.

A small country pub close by the Blue Tiers in NE Tasmania - open fire, generous meals, quiet, clean and so friendly…just what you want after a day of adventuring 🙏
