Excellent resort

This is my second time at Matachica and it just continues to get better and better. My friend and I stayed in the Azul Villa. It was stunning and the staff is just ans incredible as my last stay. The spa treatments are a must.

Matachica is highly recommended for your stay in San Pedro. The service was exceptional. Upon arrival, we were greeted with welcome drinks. The room was lovely and well-maintained. The staff greeted us by name after our first meeting. I also loved the sweets they left in the room each night.

Room was nice and clean, the staff was amazing.

Yes,only one suggestion. Shower was slippery. A rubber mat or other alliance to prevent slipping. Otherwise the resort and staff were excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic place to stay in the Ambergris Caye in Belize. Took advantage of several snorkel tours and the on-site kayaking during our stay and everything was wonderful. The staff is kind and the food is fresh and delicious. All of the casitas are lovely and the grounds are meticulously maintained. Gold cart rentals make getting into San Pedro convenient for delicious local food and art galleries.

Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous food. IMO you never need to leave. San Pedro is not the nicest town so I would not even get a golf cart. Just stay there and be pampered. We absolutely loved it.

My hubs & I loved this place. The staff were always on top of it & were super friendly. The resort was very nice & chill! You could rent a golf cart and go into town or over the secret beach. The food at the resort was pretty great! Highly recommend!

I recently celebrated my 60th birthday with my partner at this wonderful adults-only hotel; we couldn’t have chosen a better place for such a special milestone. From the moment we arrived, we felt wrapped in calm—the entire environment is peaceful, beautifully kept, and perfect for unwinding. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding customer service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure we had everything we needed. There’s a real family feeling here; it felt like staying with people who truly care about your comfort and happiness. The food was absolutely delicious, from breakfast to dinner. You can taste the freshness in every dish, and the variety kept every meal exciting. The chef’s tasting dinner was especially outstanding and quite educational about Belizean food and culture. Another huge plus was how flexible the hotel was with travel arrangements. Whether it was coordinating transportation or adjusting timing, they handled everything smoothly and with a smile. It took so much stress off our shoulders and allowed us to focus on enjoying my celebration. Overall, our experience was exceptional. If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, feel welcomed, and be treated with genuine kindness, this hotel is an absolute gem. We left with beautiful memories of a fantastic stay!

We had to change our dates due to wife's work and were concerned about US air travel. We contacted the resort and asked to move the dates to March/April. We were quoted a change fee of more than the initial reservation fee. We were then told several times the request was being reviewed. On day we were to arrive, we were told the resort couldn't change. I don't feel like the reviews were in good faith.

Matachica has truly thought of everything to make your stay perfect. The resort is beautifully designed and the grounds are immaculate. We loved the coffee service. Everyone on staff was wonderful and really went above and beyond to make it a memorable stay. We can’t wait to come back!

The rooms were beautiful, very clean and always well stocked with everything we needed, the nightly turn down service with lovely cookies was a delightful surprise, we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary while there, the staff were wonderful. One suggestion, nightly live music or some entertainment would have been a nice touch.

Great staff and immaculate rooms and grounds! Delicious food at every meal!
