Here is how to get to Lonely Beach :

Nowadays we are working with our neighboring resort Palm Beach and we ask you to jump on the Palm Beach boat that leaves at 2 pm from the royal pier.

Make sure your tuk-tuk driver understands ROYAL PIER. On our website (http://www.lonely-beach.net/prepare-your-trip/) you can find a map about Sihanoukville and the Royal Pier.
They sometimes try to bring you to the speedboat pier because there they get commission.
The ride shouldn't be more than USD7, from the city center; USD20 from Sihanoukville airport.

*Arriving from PP takes 5hours (not 4hours), please take the 7am bus to be on time.:-)*

For the boat: you do not need to buy a ticket or book. It's just hop on and go. The cost of the full ride does come on the end bill in Lonely Beach. USD30/person for both ways. Palm Beach team knows you are coming and they will expect you on the day of your arrival at 2pm on the boat.
The boat ride takes about 2 hours to Palm Beach. We will be waiting for you at the Palm Beach boat to transfert you to Lonely Beach (this transfert is included in the price). On the end you will drive up the east coast of Koh Rong.
Due to weather and time of the year there can be waves, but that is alright for the boat. On Lonely Beach we pick you up with a smaller boat and bring you to the beach.

The day of your departure, the boat will be leaving at 8am from Palm Beach to reach Sihanoukville at around 10.15am. Therefore, the departure from Lonely Beach will take place at 7.30 am.

Be aware that if you are coming from Thailand, or somewhere in the north, and you want to avoid Sihanoukville, we can organize some pick up or drop off from/to Khum Thma Sa or Koh Sakor.

Here you can pay in cash (USD/Riel) or with credit card. Be aware that there are NO ATMs on the island and please, understand that all credit card payments will be subject to a convenience fee of 5% of the amount due.


BEFORE COMING to Lonely Beach, would you kindly note that we are an eco resort which means that we're running our place on solar power. You'll have lights in your bungalow, plugs to recharge your camera or mobile are only available in the restaurant during daytime.
Our bathrooms include Western style toilets and traditional Khmer style bucket showers which are part of our water conservation efforts. There is no running water.

All our bungalaws are at least 50m from the sea, according to the khmer law.

We would like to mention this before your arrival just to make sure you have a proper idea of our place and to avoid disappointment..

It's also worth to mention that you'll also find over a kilometre of pristine, white sand beach surrounded by untouched nature. We are the only resort on the north end of the island and the most secluded accommodation available. There is no road connecting the north with the south.

We don't have WiFi here. If you need internet we can offer a hotspot if needed or even better, get yourself a SIM card from Smart. They have the best 3G/4G connection here.
A torch is helpful at night and we can recommend insect repellent for mosquito time around sunset.

Further more, we have snorkelling tours, sunset tours, fish BBQ at the Beach bar every night, and yoga and massage in high season.
