Note that this is more of a vrbo, even though I booked on Hotels.com
This building, 65 Bremner, has a multitude of flats owned by different owners, but managed by a central security staff. You have to go up to the 9th floor lobby (first few floors are supermarket, mall, and a proper hotel) and show paperwork to be allowed up to the units themselves.
The owner seemed like a nice guy but our unit had a litany of safety and maintenance issues:
- the sofabed was broken
- window crank broken
- lamp hanging by cord not secured to lamppost
- linens and towels still wet in dryer washing machine
- bit of carpet missing in corner of room, with exposed tack board
- dining chair seatback broken
- many other miscellaneous items like tattered comforter, missing blinds, punched-in drywall
Service was good - he sent over his staff right away but she said "the dryer is bad and never does a good job drying, and we know about many of these issues".
If these are known issues you need to fix them, and replace the dryer so that staff can do her job.
The worst part was that my reservation was charged $200 for "Tax recovery charges and service fees". Not sure if it was the owner or hotels.com, or a combination, but pay attention to these hidden fees before you book!
