Do not stay here on a weekend if noise is a problem for you. The noise in the rooms facing Whyte Ave can be heard over the ear plugs they give you. Otherwise, this hotel is always great.

The staff here are just excellent - many long term employees committed to customer service. We were delighted to see they still have the breakfast offerings with fresh food in a nice relaxing space. The rooms are clean and the decor is almost at the point of being retro. We love the price and the place. And BONUS is the valet parking!!!

Breakfast is included in the rate, basic buffet offerings. Parking is 2 blocks away - $22 a day if you park it yourself, $27 if you do valet parking. Noise from Whyte Ave is loud on weekends if you can’t tolerate earplugs. Would stay again for the convenience of location to Whyte ave and free breakfast.

Awesome hotel and excellent breakfast

We were provided dirty towels and the staff were unfriendly except for the Indian man, he was great.

We didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of the free breakfast, but the area was lovely and staff are incredible. The valet parking was so appreciated! We only came in for one night, but will definitely book again for our next trip to Edmonton.

Air Conditioning in my room did not work, accosted by a junkie in their parkade. Paid for two days, checked out after one night. Staff didn't even bother to ask why I was checking out early. Would never stay here again.

From the moment we arrived until we left everything exceeded our expectations. The front desk people,the valet service, the housekeeping and the complimentary breakfast were great. The location is great as we had access to everything we wanted. Thank you Mattera.

Amazing stuff

Only complaint was how hot the hotel was. We walked into our room and were met with a wave of heat. It was probably 23° in the room and we found a note in the room that said the hotel doesn’t run AC in the “winter months” (stayed April 17-19). The only option was to open the patio door, which was fine during the day but the property is surrounded by nightclubs. We laughed when we saw ear plugs on the bedside tables to “drown out the Whyte noise”. We spent a fair bit of time in our room and so got to enjoy the variety of auditory delights ranging from street preachers to buskers with electric guitar and a full drum kit and the thumping bass of night club life and wafting cloud of marijuana smoke. The hotel itself was fine. I actually really liked the breakfast and the staff were all pleasant and helpful, but we are not party people and so likely won’t visit again!

Staff was amazing. Rooms clean. Don't stay here if you don't like noise and nightlife because this area is full of both.

Great breakfast and amazing staff. Some wear and tear in the rooms. Noticeable street noise, did not hinder us from having good night sleep. Hotel also provides ear plugs.

Can’t beat the location, and the staff. Hands down amazing and so was the valet parking. However, in the warmer “spring” months the hotel doesn’t turn on their AC making the room very hot. And due to the busy location (though convenient) made it too loud to open a windows. The front desk was able to reimburse for our second night because we couldn’t sleep there again.
