Best Western Prince George Downtown

We stayed there for one night. The room was really clean, smelled new (recent renos) We also brought our German Shepherd, who was well behaved. The toilet did splash up over the rim when you flushed it, so we made sure to close the lid each time, but there was really no water in the bowl, perhaps less than 1/2 cup, then it would erupt when flushed, but honestly not a big deal. The heat was off (-20) but we figured out how to turn it on ourselves. The thermostat was fine, it was the heat exchanger that was attached to the outside wall. It was turned off. My husband has electrical experience so not a big deal. If I was by myself I would have asked the front desk. You have to run the water for about 5 minutes before turning on the shower because there is minimal hot water, just an FYI for anyone staying there. Other than that, the check in was smooth and the front desk lady was very chatty and nice. The beds were very comfortable and clean. Outside, there was a lot of homeless people, but it's like that just about everywhere now. One was in the underground parking yelling, screaming and throwing things, but the police showed up right away when called. The breakfast area was clean and the continental breakfast was more than enough. I would stay there again. It's a nice place for the money.

Returning customer of longstanding, for a reason.

Just spent 5 nights here. The hotel is going through a renovation and I was a bit unsure. However, had a great stay. The rooms are all recently renovated and entirely reasonable. There is still some ongoing construction but mainly in the dining area. The room was clean, the bed was good, room service very functional. It isn't the Four Seasons, but I've literally stayed in 100 hotels in the last few years all over the world and this was actually pretty good.

I feelwe should get a credit from Expedia as the advertisement stated a free breakfast but they did not have any,!,

The hotel is under full-on renovations. Front desk consists of a small table with a computer screen & poor gal in a jacket manning the guests. The room had baseboards removed & furniture pulled away from walls into the room. Entire hotel smelled like drywall dust. Pallets of material in lane at front door. No mention of this renovation when booking .. and no discounted room rate. Got great room at the Coast Hotel across the street for the same price.

Very dirty room blood and urine on the sheets and the bed protector was a very bad experience. Bathrooms were beautiful and customer service was good they gave me a refund as soon as I complained, they just need to work better on changing the sheets and cleaning the carpets

The place had a musty smell, our room smelled like it had been a smokers room in the past, the toilet was dirty, there was no hand soap, and the toilet paper was stuck in its holder. There was supposed to be "breakfast included", except the kitchen room was closed and the guy behind the counter pointed to the tiniest little stand and said there would be a "grab and go" breakfast. Needless to say, we did not stay. We told the guy behind the desk the above and just said, we're not staying. We found a much better place to stay. The outside of the place was an absolute dive with garbage and pallets of stuff. Yes, they're renovating - apparently - but that sure wasn't reflected on either their website or Expedias site. The photos on their website are not an accurate reflection of the state it's in now.

Dilapidated, extremely dirty, smells horrible and the part of town is scary to say the least. Couldn’t get out of there any faster!

Limited parking (especially for us; we were pulling an enclosed trailer). We were greeted by staff who allowed us to park the trailer by the front desk window so it can be monitored for the night. There are many many homeless people around and we were concerned about theft. When we entered our room it was older but clean. However, out of the 3 Queen beds in our room, two of them had broken bed frames so the beds were not flat. Also, our blowdryer was burnt out, and they were unable to provide me with one. When we checked out, the front desk person was not at all surprised about the condition of the room. He didn’t respond with anything but a head nod and “yeah”. We loaded into the car and looked over to see that a front window was smashed out of the vehicle next to us.

We have stayed at this property in the past. We felt confindent that our stay would be the same. It is under new management now. The first problem was with parking. The property has adequate parking for small and standard vehicles, but not much for trucks and/or SUV's. Our check in was fine except the attendant spoke rather quickly and was difficult to understand. I was disappointed that the room was not outfitted with enough bathroom linens for two occupants. I believe a patron should not be required to ask for what is expected to be normal accoutrements. I will probably avoid staying at this property if I ever travel to Prince George again.

The property is under renovations which was not indicated on the their web, but they did have a small sign on the check in desk. I expected the renovation work start a little later in the day, like 9:00am, to allow guests to enjoy their morning and stay. This wasn't the case, 7:00am shape the bangs began. Very disappointing stay to say the least!!
