If there was a 0 star i would have given that but unfortunately the lowest is 1. Save your money and skip this hotel. There is no ac, the fan is a joke, the bathroom looks disgusting (the toilet pot was stained), the bathroom walls had mold, there were dead mosquitoes on the pillow cases, the bed sheets looked as if it has never ever been washed. We got out immediately and had had to book another hotel for the 2 days that we planned to stay in this hotel. We were hoping to get refund because we thought there are base standards for hotels listed here but unfortunately we were given 1/4th of the amount back after corresponding with Expedia for multiple times. It was horrific experience and will not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

What a magical spot nestled in Playa Avellanas! We loved our time at Cabinas Las Olas - the rooms are great - clean and super comfortable. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely gorgeous and we loved the rustic boardwalk which led to the most stunning beach. The food was absolutely delicious and everything felt super safe and clean. Ryan was incredible - so kind and generous and there to answer all our questions! There are fun games (darts, ping pong, etc) to play by the restaurant and we rented a surfboard and had the best day at the beach! Highly recommend and would stay here again :)

The staff was great, very helpful and accommodating! Two of the staff members went above and beyond! The food was really good. The room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it. Seemed like the towels and bedding weren’t fresh, they smelled like someone used them.

The property is NOT ocean front. You have to walk on a long suspended wooden walkway which was very slippery after the rain. Not possible if you are handicap or have balance issues. None of the electrical plugs worked as they were old and loose. You cannot get an early start as the restaurant didn't open until 7:30 for breakfast. A little disappointing...

I had Mountain Bike race in the area and the hotel was near the race exit. Service is too good that they provided breakfast the night before as breakfast starts at 7:30am and the race started at 5:30am. There are hammocks to relax after race.

Geräumige Hütten auf einem bewachten Gelände allerdings ohne air condition (Aufpreis). Sehr heisse Region mit tropischen Nächten. Etwa 400 m vom Strand. Das Gelände war nicht sehr gepflegt, Laub, Schutt, Affenkot waren überall auf den Wegen, die nicht gereinigt wurden. Keinerlei Bewässerung führt dazu, dass kaum Pflanzen oder Blumen in der Trockenzeit wachsen und alles ausgetrocknet war. Aufgrund eines Unfalls mit meinem Motorrad bat ich um Stornierung , doch zeigte sich die Aministration komplett unflexibel und beharrte darauf die im voraus geleistete Zahlung auch bei meiner Abwesenheit zu behalten. Bar und Restaurant sind im Vergleich zu tamarindo nochmals Preis intensiver, während die Qualität nicht aussergewöhnlich ist. Eine erstklassige Einrichtung und Anlage erkannt man daran, dass der Gast und nicht der eigene Profit im Vordergrund steht.

Close to the beach, beautiful outdoor setting. If you are a beach lover, this place is recommended!

The internet quality is not so good, make sure to reserve a room with AC if you don’t like the heat. The road to the cabinas is. Very bad but that I guess is true for anywhere in Costa Rica

Great spot. Avellanas is beautiful, and Las Olas, while basic, has everything you need.

The highlight of my 4 week stay in Costa Rica. You feel in nature, at the same time by the beach. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Definitely a place not to miss

La propiedad parece sin mantenimiento, áreas resbalosas de luego verde , demasiado oscuro , los baños se ven demasiado zarrosos , sin aire acondicionado, un ventilador súper ruidoso , la habitación demasiado caliente . Lastima poruqe el lugar es hermoso

We enjoyed every moment with this crew of beautiful staff! Friendly and welcoming each and every moment. The fish tacos were a favourite of mine and I don’t think a day went by that I didn’t enjoy them! This was a peaceful retreat from the world and a beautiful setting to reset!

Wow. This place was great, the beach is a short walk on a board walk through a mangrove and it is by far the best beach we visited on our CR trip. The cabinas were very cool and we saw monkeys and iguanas while here too. The food at the restaurant was very good and the staff were very friendly. If you are looking for laid back and rustic this is your place. No tv in the room but it did have ac.

Las Olas is a quiet place with individual cabins spread across a nice property, with mellow little dining area and bar. Nice room with space to spread out a bit, porch and hammock, fan. Howler monkeys greeted us in tree off the path. The boardwalk over the mangroves to the beach is surprisingly long. Its a lovely special feature, but means no easy access to the beach -- especially at night. You have to drive out to other places for dinner.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay!! Very simple, but very clean, great water pressure in the shower and the food was delicious!! I highly recommend Cabinas Las Olas!!

Incredible place! We felt removed from the world and dropped into paradise. Staff were amazing, location amazing, beach was amazing, and we never wanted to leave. Once we arrived and parked the car, we had no reason to move. And we didn’t.
