It was very easy to communicate with management if I had any request. The place is quiet, has fresh air and beautiful view over the mountain.

We rented 2 rooms. One bed had strong smell. We checked the blankets and sheets and found stains and the smell was terrible. Immediately left the hotel. I’m hoping to get refunded. Very bad experience and it was very late at night

The scenery was beautiful!!! The room was not that clean and it was not cleaned daily. The trash piled up and the room was not kept clean. Also, if you wanted to be out late, you had to keep calling the property to get the gate opened. That was very frustrating. The breakfast was decent, but very small portions. The hotel was about 20 minutes away from the city center, therefore every time I booked a tour, I had to take an Uber to the City Center.

That owner is amazing! Made me feel right at home. Fresh cooked breakfast in the morning. Beautiful view from my own balcony. Pool, garden and cliff side terrace allowed for plenty of opportunity to enjoy the Costa Rican sunshine and weather. Only a half mile to some local restaurants, markets, and bakery made it convenient without being in the busy metropolitan area. Just a short Uber ride away from everything else. Hands down would book here again!!!

Amazing property! Walking distance to a nice restaurant and quiet safe neighborhood. The owner was very nice and accommodating too! I wish we could’ve stayed more than one night!

The owner was wonderful and gracious. We were there for 3 weeks looking for a place to rent for our retirement and she was so helpful with her suggestions and even did a load of laundry for us no charge!! Her children spoke English which made it even easier, and they were so sweet. Highly recommended. We also found a wonderful restaurant a few kilometers down the street called El Gordo that was unbelievably good.

the most relaxing way to end the day. so peaceful, and breakfast was amazing. staff super nice and had plenty of recommendations for excursions. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Costa Rica.... Thank you for greatest week my son and I had an amazing time.

Unique rooms in a unique property. Spectacular views. Comfortable bed! I would return.

Over all it was a great experience. The room was very very clean. The breakfast everything morning was delicious. The view of the city was fantastic. Rocio was great. She was always there to help me and guided me to places to visit. I really really enjoy my stayed at Loma Tranquila.

This was a beautiful family run business with amazing views. Never have I felt closer to nature or the people of Costa Rica. The host was amazing, super helpful and kind, she made us homemade traditional Costa Rican breakfast every morning. She made herself available at all hours, even when we had to checkout at 2am for our flight home. Parking onsite, and 7 minute drive from down town Alajuela. The view from each room and amenity is breathtaking, the pool is clean and a pleasant escape from the midday heat. The property is a tropical paradise with mesmerizing foliage and wildlife, you can pick ripe bananas in the garden and share them with their pet bunnies (Mango & Waffles) who roam the property daily. I like sit by the overlook in the parking lot with the humming birds and butterflies. This would be a great vantage point for bird watching so pack your binoculars! There’s a handful of very good local restaurants within walking distance, our favorites including El Gordo’s (furthest distance, $$$) & Zompopa Pizza (mid distance, $). This was my favorite part of Costa Rica and I would love to stay here again.

What a truly magical place! The view alone is worth the stay, as Loma Tranquila fully lives up to it's name. To add to an already amazing experience, the host is absolutely wonderful- cooking up a delicious breakfast each morning, and happily attending to whatever you may need, with great recommendations and even some money-saving connections for tours! It's her personal touches that put Loma Tranquila above and beyond. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating vacation in Costa Rica with an authentic local vibe.
