This hotel makes Faulty Towers look professional! Reception does not open until 4pm and then closes once all of the guests are booked in (he was not very friendly and couldn't leave the building quick enough), no staff are then seen until 8am the next day when a basic continental breakfast is put on and then he disappears again so you're left to your own devices, luckily we were the first ones down for breakfast so we had some choice but a party of cyclists were in the hotel and the first ones down had some breakfast but the later ones had nothing left to eat and there was no staff on site to replenish the milk etc. My advice, pay a bit more, it would be worth it!

Helt okej vistelse - våra förväntningar var låga iom att boendet fått väldigt blandade omdömen men läget och priset var för vår resa värd chansningen. Vi ankom vid värmebölja och temperaturer utomhus på 30-35 grader vilket gjorde att nyheten vid ankomst om att poolen var ur funktion och gymmet bara var möjligt att nyttja mellan 16-19 när personalen var på plats var två besvikelser. Likaså vissa väldigt varma rum och bristen på fläktar på vissa rum - men efter lite tjat lyckades personalen lösa fläktar i alla rum. Inför vistelsen har vi även försökt att ringa/kontakta boendet per Mail men de har inte svarat vilket också gjort saker inför resan svårt att lösa. Rummen varierade i kvalitet; vi var en grupp om 15 pers. Delar av hotellet var lite renoverade, andra inte. Rummen var inte de renaste; skräp i lådor, hår och damm på lister och lampor. Vissa lampor funkade inte på rummen och jättesvårt att hitta information om Wi-Fi. Positivt var att vi fick förutsättningar att lämna väskor och låna nyckel för att ta oss in på hotellet senare än vår tid för utcheckning (hotellet är låst). Hotellet var vad man kunde vänta sig efter recensionsläsning; ett ställe med potential men inte det renaste och i behov av renovering samt inte den mest hjälpsamma av personal, men allt som allt löste sig allt.

lovely staff but the hotel is very tired

A recently redecorated bedroom, clean and basic, great value for a one night stay with a lovely breakfast and staff were very helpful with details about where I was going and what to look out for. Most helpful.

Filthy room, no curtains on one window, exposed wiring on walls and dangerous plug socket with big hole in it, I opened a cupboard drawer and found 2 wall lights, obviously for the exposed wires. No soap/shower gel, paint all flaking off the walls in the toilet, general grime.! have seen better looking beds at a council rubbish dump. No food available. The only good thing was the view, if you didn’t look in the car park. I have taken so many photos of as you wouldn’t believe me otherwise, possibly the worst hotel I have stayed in. I stay in a lot of hotels.

The hotel is very tired, but the owners are trying to tidy it up and decorate. The facilities in the bedroom were poor, nowhere to hang clothes, curtains don't close tv didn't work. Having said that, it is only rated a 2 star and I will certainly stay again both for the quirkiness and the lovely staff.

Co tasted hotel as incorrect dates had been booked and asked confirmation of correct dates but had no reply

After booking in we were told that, 1. breakfast was not cooked, I'm sure the pictures showed that, 2. the resturant wasn't open in the evenings, 3. the pool was closed. Had I known this before checking in I would have changed the booking but it was too late be that time!

Unfortunately we had to get there early as the contact number on the website is no longer use. Half the building was cold the pool was not open as being renovated the gym also not open or the sauna . The room was so small should have been a single . The 2 staff we saw was lovely and very kind . The place didn’t look ready for any guests . We ended up going home .

There was one member of staff the entire stay that was often hard to locate. The kitchen was broken, the WIFI was broken, the access to the gym and pool was locked, all downstairs bathrooms were out of order, the en-suite for our room had mould everywhere in the shower, the check in and check out process was appalling and I wanted to dispute the payment of the room due to the standard provided but was unable to do so due to there being no staff so was charged full price automatically to the card I booked the room with. Would not stay again.

Easy 30 minute walk to the train station. Lovely old building with comfortable rooms. The reception isnt manned until the evenings, we needed to drop our bags early and the breakfast chef was so helpful

Very run down. Booked with breakfast included. Was told on arrival they have no food available for any meal time. Gym was filthy. Shower was mouldy. Reception unattended on arrival. Had to look for staff member. When I left at 8:30 the reception was all locked up. No staff around. No receipt for stay. Have emailed but had no response. Travels a lot with work and this is the worst place I have stayed.

our stay included breakfast, but when we got there, we were told there is no breakfast as the kitchen was being refurbished. Please can you inform me as to a refund for the breakfast for 2 days

Breakfast was not provided even though it was included in the price of our stay. We felt that the staff weren't interested in staying guests. Not good at all

Room needs upgrading.

The checkin time was late. Hotel was closed until 20mins after the 4pm checkin time. Speaking to regulars they say it's quite common. Not impressed. The owner stated the Hotel will be turned into flats in 2026?

a few of us were waiting outs in the cold waiting for someone to let us in. nobody answered the phone numbers that were on display on the door. after 30 min we got an answer, only because i texed one of the numers. the beds are pooir you can feel the springs. then the fire alarm went off at 8 am

Staff got sworn at with foul language because we had issue with room amenities was non existent room was filthy could not close the outside door so everything was soaking wet
