Grand Hotel Gosforth Park

Will continue to stay here for work. Staff are great.

One night stay for business. Location was good for what I needed but…. Small print is different from main advertising…so it does have a gym and a pool, but it’s chargeable for each visit. Room service was tasty but cold when arrived. Breakfast was expensive for a cold cooked breakfast.

Lack of usable normal sockets in your room. None next to your bed. The single socket for the kettle is below the 150mm recommended height. Which means it is again unusable for a charger plug. You are now charged per person for the use of the leisure facilities.

Rooms too warm, you have to turn down the radiator open the window and go out for a couple of hours. Cant charge to the room. Cant run a tab at the bar.

Great staff, Service overall was good. Condition of hotel isn’t great very dated rooms. Nothing like the pictures on site in my opinion. Clearly the internet rate rooms are different. This should be shown in pictures.

Booked this hotel again because of the facilities after a hard day on the road the spar is a nice go to relax. ….. I was horrified to find that a 45min relaxation session was going to cost £8 even though the pricing tariff stated £5 apparently the price had increased that day. Location is remote for visiting the local area but only a short drive away. This hotel will now be taken off my favourite list of places to stay when working again in the area. Not got a feel good satisfaction this time I stayed.🙁

The reception area, lounge, breakfast room and bar area is beautifully decorated and welcoming. Modern but homely. We arrived and checked in, the hotel had granted my request to have 2 rooms next to each other. We went to a room on the 2nd floor. Then it went downhill. The bed had hairs in it, bathroom was dirty, TV didn't work, wardrobe door was hanging off and there was a dog in the room near us barking continuously. I rang reception to inform them and they kindly offered to move me rooms. Unfortunately, i had to go down to reception, carting 4 bags of luggage with me and my son. It would have been helpful if someone could have brought the new room key to us. We were given a room on the 3rd floor. Entering the room, there was a unpleasant smell, no wardrobe doors this time but the room was cleaner, the TV worked and no hairs in the bed. The bathroom unfortunately was still dirty with hairs. I cleaned it myself as i couldn't be bothered to move all our luggage again. The heating was broke and when i rang reception to inform them, they could only send an engineer out the next morning. Luckily we had taken a thick blanket so used that to keep warm. There was mould along the windows and the carpet wasn't very clean. I'd advise to take slippers. They are upgrading the rooms and i would stay again once this has been completed because the service was great. Pool was nice and warm. Food was lovely, both breakfast and evening meal. Great service just very dated rooms.

we had a nice comfortable room, it was nice and clean with a comfy bed and a decent shower. Plenty of safe parking. Lovely hotel and a reasonable price.

Friendly staff, nice room for the price.

All of the staff were all very friendly. Our evening meal and breakfast were really nice. Only complaints would be that the bedroom was very cold, even with the heating on. The windows need updating, and also as we were leaving by the exterior stairs at reception near the overflow car park the top tread completely came away. One final point in the leisure facilities, the jacuzzi was lukewarm, and the plunge pool was freezing cold.

The staff were very helpful and helpful, food was very good, the room was clean and comfortable, it was a very relaxing holiday. I would recommend it to anyone so I will give it 10 out of 10 We are coming back for Christmas and new year.

The room so dated particularly the bathrooms no separate shower dated tiles mostly damaged furnishings without material on some chairs in bedroom. Not providing basic toilet rolls in your bathroom & about three tissues in box limited coffee & tea . They dont clean or restore any toiletries at all between your stay no matter how many nights u stay u have to wait in a que at reception to ask for another toilet roll or coffee sachet & carry them yourself through hotel to your room . Disgraceful to think they say they are four star rating . Restaurant food was barely warmed & sauce like watered down hot water . I wouldn't stay with them again . A Disgrace

After 6 years of using the hotel, this time was a little disappointing. The bedroom was ok but the bed was the worst we have slept in. Its a good job im not worried about spiders because there were a spiderweb that had been at the window for some time( no spiders in sight 😆.) We have always used the pool while we have stayed at the hotel but was shocked to find out that there is a £5.00 charge for each adult and £2.00 per child, everytime you want to use this area. It had always been free in the past. This can really have an inpact on considering this hotel again. Also there is no actual pathway for pedestrians to walk on ,to get to the main road or adequate lighting. We will most probably stay here again but just because it is the closest to our family.

Like the property the breakfast was very good although a little pricey would stay again.
