Free on site parking We haf a free room upgrade Location in town center Breakfast fantastic

Firstly, the parking is very secure and free. The room was clean, but the coffee machine made lukewarm drinks and the base of the taps need a deep clean. The double bed was the smallest I've ever seen unless I wanted to pay hundreds more. Breakfast wasn't good, the scrambled egg was smothered in butter and salt, the bacon was dry and overcooked and the toast was cold and dry, dirty napkin and customers were asking for things like baked beans, coffeess etc and they were getting these. The young lad working on the bar was great, really polite and chatty. The woman on the bar took it upon herself to try my cocktail before serving it to me! So it really was a bit hit and miss. I'd have preferred Premier Inn to be honest.

Our first room had problems but we were offered a change of room next day which was adequate tho air conditioning didn’t seem to be working. There were not enough breakfast staff (the 2 people who were on were very good) but we had to wait a long time to get our breakfast, they were trying their best but breakfast became disjointed as they were dealing with several tables and this morning room service too. The bar closed at 11, we thought because it was a hotel there would not be this restriction. On a positive note, we found the staff very helpful.

Rooms were lovely and clean and spacious. Lack of staff and very poor service at Breakfast. Standards of staffing have dropped since our last visit. Hardly anyone avilable.

The hotel is charming, with character and very clean. The staff were very polite and personable. The bar area is very nice with snugs and lovely fires. They made a really great Bloody Mary. Highly recommend.

Everything about this hotel from the first email they sent to me to ask if there was anything I needed ahead of time to the checkout was incredible. I used to work for the Beverly Hills Hotel which is part of the Dorchester collection. I have extremely high standards when it comes to service and every single person I encountered in this hotel on the staff was professional, engaging and friendly. As an American who has worked in the service industry for 40 years, this was very refreshing. I have found most British service to be lackluster at best. Perhaps why this stood out in my mind so much. The room was incredibly tidy and clean. The hallways were bright and there were tiny little decorative touches everywhere that made all the difference. The Rose room where we ate breakfast was beautiful with custom-made flower chandeliers that reminded me of Chihuly. The waitstaff were delightful! I highly recommend a stay here. The value for money is great. I suggest bringing cash to tip because service this good deserves a reward!!

The surroundings were really pleasant. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, offering to take luggage to my room. The room was extremely clean and was above my expectations.

Room was lovely bright and clean, the lady on Reception was lovely, we are in the restaurant which was excellent. The only downside was the breakfast which wasn’t very good.

Great staff and service, decoration is oldy world and would benefit from a refreshuch like they have done with the reception area. Standard double rooms were fine with decent coffee and a Nespresso machine. Bed was ok . Shower was good hotel is very quiet and suffers less with noise than their competitors on the High Street. Breakfast was superb competitor on the High stlocal competion
