I arrived at thia property on the Saturday evening at 5pm. There was a note at reception saying latw arrivals were to call a number. I wouldn't call 5pm a late arrival seeing as checkin was only from 3pm. I called the number a few times but the reception was bad. I finally spoke to someone who asked if i had a booking for bowling or the lodge. When I confirmed it was the lodge, a sour faced man appeared from the bar area. This mans demeanour had me feeling that I had interrupted him from whatever he was doing. I felt very uncomfortable and was made feel not at all welcome. I went to my room to work but couldn't connect my laptop as there was no wifi code so I had to go back downstairs to get the code which was stuck up on a piece of paper on the bar. Breakfast the following morning was lovely and the lady serving was very helpful. Unfortunately though at this stage the damage had been done so I checked oit and booked in elsewhere even though I had booked and paid for another 3 nights. I would suggest that this property put someone more welcoming on reception. I would never return

A good friendly pub hotel with it own 10 pin bowling ally, good pub food and beer. Stayed many times as I they have good private parking.

Frukost ingick, och man kunde välja engelsk frukost med valfri äggtyp, bacon, och vita bönor i tomatsås och toast m.m., vilket vi gjorde eftersom vi bestämt oss för att äta detta minst 1 gång under vår Englandsvecka. Vi åt också middag på hotellet— Rumpstek samt scampi — Gott.

A hidden gem. Great food. Excellent service. Professional bowling alleys and 3 pool tables made a rainy day into a fun experience for my family. Good value for money.

Very friendly staff, great room clean and fresh. Had a meal on my first night and was really good and my breakfast was also very good. I’d stop there again if there was available

My stay would have been excellent if the check in was good. Unfortunately when I arrived there was no one to check me in. I did venture into the ten pin bowling bar area to ask for help and the guy was very rude and extremely unhelpful. He was more interested in his phone than helping me. He has to remember he works in a customer service industry. Luckily, everyone else I came into contact with were very welcoming.

Solid place to stay. Easy walk to the ocean, a little bit more to walk to town. Also, has a: restaurant, bar, & bowling. Stayed in room #15 & then #19. 3 nights in late-March 2025. Negatives: Wi-Fi issues: kept having to reconnect as the signal was weak. Also, speed was not adequate. Room #19 did not have USB power (#15 did). Both rooms had weird mis-matched lighting, some were cool white bright, others warm white & way too dim (like that scene in the film Amerlie). Towels were too big. Too much furniture & extra pillows just takes up space. Bed in #19 had excessive soft spot on one side of bed at chest area, other side was fine. Positives: Check-in was easy. Lot's of free parking just across the way. Both rooms were very clean & quiet. Water was hot. Extras like biscuits in addition to the standard coffee/Tea & kettle was a nice touch. Silverware/ceramics were clean & spotless. Room #15 had USB power. The included English Breakfast was top notch, restaurant area was clean and service was great. Adjustable hand held shower head is always better than a fixed head.

We stayed for one night as we had an early flight, we were out before breakfast so they provided a snack in a bag for us without being asked. The room was fine and did what we needed. We ate in the bar and the food was very nice and a good portion. We would use this place again.

Really good price, quaint hotel down a narrow road. Rooms well equipped and comfortable. 5 min walk to Porth Beach and coastal walks. Good breakfast. Enjoyable stay

A great price for what I had. Room was comfortable and en-suite. A great breakfast and friendly atmosphere. Will visit again if I am in the area.

Carol and Dave took excellent care of us. Dave is a great cook so food was excellent- breakfast - anything you wanted plus pastries, fresh fruit salad etc every morning. Often took evening meals there too - super. Great fun bowling and playing pool and just a few minutes walk to a wonderful beach with cafes and Loos. Brilliant value for money.

Great lodge with bowling facilities nearby the beach with all comforts supplied. Short walk to the beach and in a quiet and safe neigbourhood.

Property is located close to the beach, a 5 minute walk. My family was booked in for four nights, we stayed one night and left due to the conditions. The property smelled damp and was noisy as it is also the home to a skittle alley. Our room had a large patch of mold under the main window, plug sockets were loose on the wall, one bed side lamp didn’t work. The main lamp shade was broken with beads hanging loose. There were four in ceiling lights in the bathroom, two didn’t work, one worked intermittently, leaving only one light working. The floor standing bathroom caddy was covered in rust and the heated towel rail had dust on each rung. We were unable to open windows as the smoking area appeared to be directly under our room window.
