Our check‑in had disruptions, but these were eventually resolved and compensation was provided. Reception staff had only basic local knowledge and could not give clear parking guidance. We parked at an expensive nearby car park despite calling ahead. Future guests should avoid Bath Road South Seafront Parking and use Central Car Park on Parsonage Road (offers affordable 24‑hour rates). The room had sealed windows that could not be opened, and the installed ventilations were not working throughout our stay (reported, but no action was taken). 2 electric fans were provided: one worked quietly and was sufficient. The closet shelves were not properly cleaned. The bathroom was between good-satisfactory; one ventilation did not work, and the shower head bracket could not swivel. 2 staff members stood out positively: Colin had excellent local knowledge, and Raph (manages housekeeping and the Gym & Spa) was helpful. I booked this hotel for its theatrical Victorian style, ocean‑liner‑style lounge/bar; gym & spa (not complimentary); free live entertainment in a separate lounge/room; and large back garden with a raised decked platform leading to a side path toward the beach. It also has elevators with buts.. It was a short ferry ride to Swanage where the sandy, shallow-water Knoll Beach is located. I recommend using the ferry back and forth to Bournemouth, unless you are familiar with the routes and would like to see Corfe Castle and more.

No aircon was very hot we did have a door to the garden and a fan

Windows were stuck fast leaving just a fan in the room for a hot evening. Bathroom pressure was good. Ok for one night. Breakfast was not worth the money- no pastries and small selection to choose from

Close to beach if you don't like the hills. Great food. Cheaper to eat their than out. Staff amazing

The hotel is a great location for beach, town and buses. It certainly needs some TLC. We had a large room but the rooms are not serviced during your stay so you have to ask for clean towels etc if needed. The hotel is not very disabled friendly as steps every where and the lift did not work for most of our stay.

Nice clean hotel and room. Good location. Parking next to hotel very expensive but found a cheaper option 5 minute walk away. The only problem was how hot it was in our room. A small double with no opening windows on the top floor. We were provided with fans but it didnt help much. I would stay again but choose a different room.

The Royal Bath Hotel was wonderful! We arrived a few days after its 188th anniversary so that was extra special. We chose this venue to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday. We enjoyed afternoon tea and made good use of the on-site spa facilities. The staff are friendly, our room was clean and the breakfast was well presented. The hotel is very centrally located with just a few minutes walking distance to Bournemouth beach/Bournemouth pier. Harry Ramsden’s famous fish ‘n’ chips is must go to and I’d recommend the hop on / hop off sightseeing bus as well.

It was ok no.the best for the price

Hotel is a little dated in parts but the rooms were spacious and clean, as was the whole hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The view from our room was fantastic and although close to the beach and town, it was surprisingly quiet at night. We fell asleep with the patio doors open and the sound of the sea.

I was made to feel comfortable as soon as I arrived. My room was lovely with a sea view and balcony The garden was lovely food good To be honest I couldn't fault anything I will definitely be going back next year

The hotel needs urgent upgrades to the rooms. We upgraded to a sea view room with the manager being extremly helpful and quick. The room itself it is very outated and upgrading, however the view itself from the balcony was incredible. The cost of the pool/gym of £5 should be included in the price, especially as the facilities are also very outated. The check-in of 3 pm is very late - but this seems to be the same in all hotels in the area. Overall the experience was pleasant, but not worth almost £300/night.

Terrible. Rude reception staff very blunt! Bar staff lovely. No house keeping at all for whole stay( they don’t offer this) HOW IS THIS HOTEL A 4 STAR!!!!!!! Grounds lovely Rooms awful. No air conditioning only allowed one medium fan per room. Only 2 Sockets in our room none beside bed on opposite side of the room. Fan didn’t reach us from where it was plugged in. Certain a foot too short . Dirty not clean properly and bathroom disgusting. The lino on floor was a disgrace . Avoid this is no way a 4 star.

Dirty room, room not cleaned, no room service, no air-conditioning, no fresh fruit at breakfast, machine coffee.... How this has four stars is beyond me.

The rooms are not air conditioned, were extremely stuffy only have a smallish window that you can open a little bit. The twin we had was not as pictured it was much smaller. Location good but hotel quite tired

Hotel was in a great location for getting out and about to explore Bournemouth. Hotel had a sense of faded grandure, A charge was added for the use of the pool with a non working jacuzzi. The breakfast could have had a bit more choice, The best asset were the staff who we're friendly helpful and thoughtful .

Really very dated and extremely moody outside
