I can't speak too highly of this hotel. The staff couldn't do too much for us, they were courteous and polite at all times. The quality and choice of food was second to none, for the lake District, it was extremely competitively priced....we will be back, soon, for another break.

The staff were amazing but we had a problem with our room as the loo wasnt working . Couldnt get a room change until the following day but it meant we had staff in and out on Saturday night trying to sort it and we had to stay dressed in our room until bed time so we could go down and use the pubs loo . The room we moved to had a considerably smaller bath room and was rather shabby . Paint peeling rotten window frames and definitely not cosy just cramped . We were very disappointed that we were not offered a small refund for the major inconvenience.

My husband and I stayed between Christmas and New year.....what an amazing team! Great service, food, beautiful clean cozy room and wonder hardworking girls serving breakfast and evening meals. Even our 2 dogs had sausages served for breakfast! Brilliant stay 😊

Breakfast service was poor we seemed to be forgotten about both mornings waiting up to 35/40 mins after ordering and getting in complete order,hotels nice just lacking seating for just wanting a drink.

Really special and charming hotel. We didn’t know Keswick was such a destination for dog owners, and our only criticism of the Royal Oak was that is actually smelled like a dirty dog. It wasn’t bad enough to lessen the experience, but it wasn’t subtle.

The staff and warm and welcoming. Extremely dog friendly (we received a doggy welcome pack and a doggy breakfast!). Rooms were clean with a good choice of hot drinks and other special touches (sleep spray etc). Breakfast was delicious and served promptly.

Lovely historic inn right in the middle of Keswick. Close to everything in town, and a great hub for exploring the Lake District.
The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful, and accommodating. All the staff were pleasant and positive.
