Lovely welcome on arrival, great staff serving in the bar and dining area and good food at a reasonable price.

The staff was nice, friendly, and helpful. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

Staff always bend over backwards to accommodate our needs

Really nice rooms, nothing missing or broken or bodged up, like most on-the-cheap-end hotels. Food was amazing, both evening meal and breakfast. Staff were friendly and attentive. ~Would stay again

The Hotel is very tired, extremely hot,the window looks out onto the car park so felt unsafe opening it up and leaving it like that all night. Had a very bad sleep had to have the fan on. Breakfast was very small. Overall not worth the £144.00 paid.

Excellent stay all round . Breakfast was exceptional. Accommodation lovely . Beautiful old inn . Will stay again.

Great place to stay, food was hot, staff were friendly.

Stayed for two nights due to attending a local festival at Chelmsford. We could not check in early but this was not an issue as we could park our car and leave our bags. They were very accommodating of our then late arrival back at the hotel (after 11pm at night) and check in was quick and efficient. The inn is lovely and the rooms were clean. They had left the radio on for us when we entered our room which we liked. The breakfast the following day all though very busy was excellent. I would definitely recommend this inn

Lovely old Coaching Inn with welcoming and helpful staff. It was very conveniently located in the town near bus stops with parking and my room was perfect with a large comfortable bed and a bath. Only little things letting it down was no croissants or Hash brownies at breakfast and the price of the Wine !! (Luckily found at half the price for lunch the following day at a cafe across the road......)

The room was unexpected but not in the most comforting way and not what is shown on the website for the outside rooms. It needs an update and could be utilised in a better way if they are going for the barn vibe. The guy at the reception desk was helpful and friendly! The breakfast was nice. It has a young vibe which was ideal for myself but not for my mum who accompanied me on this visit.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay. Room was very comfortable and slept really well. Staff were friendly and very helpfull. Location good and dining was excellent with good menu and well presented. Definitely on our to visit Again

Easy check in and easy access to Stansted airport

Very pleasnt hotel, nice room and facilities unfortunately spoiled by neighbouring guests waking at 6am, crashing about in room and departing on extremely noisy motorbike at 6.30 obviously no fault of hotel staff.

Staff were very good, friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good and to a high standard. Rooms are quite basic, but to be fair they offer good value for the cost so we would stay again and recommend, particularly for a short stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Saracen. Stacie the manager was amazing! and our room was fit for a King (and Queen)!

really nice room beds comfortable great setting , pub really nice food and breakfast , my only gripe and don't suppose they can do anything about is the amount of parking available for the amount of customers they attract for both the pub and hotel. Would defiantly stop again though
