The staff were fantastic, so helpful & polite, though over the phone they said i'd be 1st room on 1st floor as i come out of lift as i'm disabled, but i was 18 doors from lift, the window rattled all night so we didn't get any sleep, but the hotel is in a good spot. Lovely & clean, close to sea life & other places

We booked 2 x double rooms for a 2 night stay in June. The conditions at St George Hotel were entirely unacceptable and fell well below the standard that was advertised and that any paying guest should reasonably expect. As a direct result of the condition of the room, I had no choice but to pay for alternative accommodation for our second nights stay at my own expense, which caused me significant inconvenience and additional financial loss. A list of issues include: - Black mould on the ceilings and in the showers, creating a strong, unpleasant smell. - Stained bed linen. - Grubby marks on the walls behind the head of the bed, including what could only be depicted as snot wiped down the walls behind the pillows. - a brown-stained divan base. - Coffee spills running down the wall. - A dead bug in the carpet. - Used hair accessories left behind by a previous guest. - A dirty mirror. - The lift in the property which we deemed unsafe and unusable had tiles peeling away and was extremely unclean. The listing for the rooms boast a 'shower/bathtub combination', whereas we were provided with a small, unclean shower - which in one room, was broken and the height of the shower head was unable to be adjusted. Safe to say, we shall not be returning to the St George Hotel and would advise they invest in some much needed maintenance and deep cleaning!

Great value for money. We had a full size fridge, microwave and kettle in our room. Tea coffee and bottled water was also supplied. Internet kept dropping in and out. Staff were lovely and welcoming. We parked around the corner but think this was because there was a big event on the strip?

Staff were very helpful. Sadly, there are no food and drink services available. The room was small. It had been recently decorated, but in a slapdash manner. Beds were comfortable and linen clean. Disappointingly, there seemed to be no housekeeping - beds left unpaid, cups unwashed.... It is v much a budget place.

Second time using this hotel, great service from start to finish always helpful and never had any issues, will definitely use again.

This hotel may not be for everyone but we love it stayed over 8 years and always looked after well and rooms are lovely

Great location ! We had a lovely two night stay here in great weather . Hotel is dated but is typically British which I love . Clean rooms and comfortable beds . Fridge was a massive bonus with it being mid to late 20° with free water on arrival too . Shower pressure low which could be annoying in the colder days . Only gripe was tv sound was restricted so couldn't hear but luckily we wasn't there to watch it . WiFi ok . Lastly we was lucky finding a parking space out front because they are public too !

Refurbishment is required everywhere. Bathroom is too tiny, there is a smell of sewage

No bar or food available. Shower very poor water flow and only luke warm. At least the parking was free.

Dated hotel with no bar or restaurant. My single room was ok apart from the cobweb hanging from the ceiling and the shower cubicle was rather small.

Only downside to the room was the bright light and no bedside lamp wiich would of been more better for myself. Room was big and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Will definately book again. Building is dated with no bar or restaurant but did not effect our stay

Everything about this stay was basic. For the price we paid, we knew it would be basic. That's what we paid for. Comfy bed - impressed it was king size. Close to the seafront. Town was a 10 minute walk. Free parking on the road outside. Clean bedding. Clean towels. Working TV with Freeview. Tea & coffee tray. Space in the room to put things away if you wanted. Quiet location and quiet inside. Plenty of space for 2 people to move around in the room. We wanted a cheap place to lay our heads for 2 nights. This didn't disappoint. We'd happily go back if in the area again.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, and its cheap, you get what you pay for!

Room was clean and bright near the town and added bonus was free parking

Hotel was fine for a cheap stay however the mattress was VERY uncomfortable.

The room key I had opened the door to another room! I stayed in room 212, and after a very long day I accidentally went to room 202 and opened up the door and entered the wrong room! After a moment or two of seeing the room wasn't presented correctly, the actual guest of room 202 opened the door and walked into the room whilst I was standing there. It was just a good job I wasn't in the shower, on the loo or getting dressed. As you can imagine, the other guest was quite shocked, as was I. I showed him how my key fit his door and I hadn't broken in. It appears that the room key is actually a master room key, so can fit any door and the same key lock for outside/late night access. No one came to the room to find out if I was OK, or needed anything. I'd not stay there again. It's a shame, as back in the day this must have been quite a lovely hotel, but now has been left in need of modernisation. Yes, the cost per room was quite competitive, but that isn't the point. Safety of guests should always be paramount of importance.
