Well located and very easy!

Iconic location in the centre of Cowes, what's not to like!

Situated in the heart of Cowes right on the High Street. We stayed here one night to attend a family party. It was perfect for 1 night, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The Anchor is a lively, popular pub serving local beers and weekly live music. The room had some ear plugs provided but we didn't need them, a nice thought though.

Good place for an overnight stay before sailing as couldn't be closer to West Cowes Marina. Helpful staff and a clean room but can be a little noisy due to street noise... earplugs provided!

I would call this cheap and cheerful. The rooms are very basic. I stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. I had a twin on Friday night at the front and it was very noisy with people outside. On Saturday I had a double at the back which was quieter but the window opens to a yard with the kitchen fans and it was noisy and smelly with cooking fumes. This double was very small I can’t imagine two people in it. It was also in need of redecoration. The staff were very friendly, can’t fault that. The location was right in the middle of Ryde so very handy for everything. As I said cheap and cheerful!

Plus points , within walking distance of the ferry lots of shops, bars, restaurants et cetera. Food in the bar a bit hit and miss but some stuff very nice. Quite fairly priced, clean good quality towels, even though I would say any at level cleanliness is a must and a basic., missing at this property. Negative points, very tired and dirty decor, lots of narrow steep flights of stairs, no wardrobe, no offer of help to carry bags up the flights of stairs when shown to you're room ,even though it was a very young gentleman and we are older ladies, the young female member of staff in the bar was very rude and intolerant, tiny room I've bruises all of my thighs trying to get in and out of the bed. I had to wipe out the drawers before we could put our clothes in.

Straightforward and easy check by the welcoming staff.

The welcome and explanation of house rules was much appreciated after a long walk from Ryde. The Sunday roast was most delicious and very filling. The bed, shower, kettle, bottled water was also very much welcomed. Unfortunately the overnight cleaning staff were disruptive to my sleep. I could hear their voices and what I believe was the sound of a vacuum cleaner. One of the workers stood outside for a cigarette, beneath my window (which was open for fresh air), and proceeded to make a telephone call - I could hear the discussion. It was a little while before I getting back to sleep.

The bar staff were very helpful and courteous, however there was no Wi-Fi and nothing in our room was cleaned or replenished for the next day. The shower door had a gap at the bottom which allowed water to escape thereby flooding the bathroom. Very disappointing overall.

Single room was horrible! I expected it to be small, but it did not have even basic comfort (especially in comparison to the room my travel companion couple had). Bed was worst I've ever had, had to put suitcase on floor or only chair, single tiny wall shelf a couple feet from bed to set anything on (no small table by bed or anywhere else in room), no bathroom amenities, shower too small to even turn around in & door opened oddly, light above mirror in bathroom didn't work, no place to hang towels except several feet away down narrow space where toilet was (not near sink or shower), looks out over garbage bins & beer kegs with loud fans running outside, room was very warm but no fan (my friends gave me the one that was in their room!). Price of this room was only about $10 less than the nice, large, fully equiped room my friends had -- a complete rip off!

The staff were very helpful but the room was very tiny and should only be used as a single occupant room.

Overall, I think it's good

It is in the middle of Cowes so convenient for everything, being above a pub it is a bit noisy but to be expected. The windows open onto the high street which would be nice to know beforehand. I was there for for four nights but the room wasn’t serviced while I was there, bottled water was provided when I arrived but not replenished during my stay.

Right in the middle of the High Street so very convenient. Parking is 5 minutes walk. A traditional pub with rooms above. Our room was very compact and overlooked the storage yard which meant that, with the window open, there was noise from moving beer barrels around. It wasn’t very noisy but is probably not great if you want an early night and you’re a light sleeper.

Limited hanging space in bedroom maybe some coat hangers needed,and could do with towel hook in bathroom.

I booked the property going solely from the reviews and was not disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable. The food choices and service was good and i enjoyed eating there. I was not really expecting much as the cost was very reasonable but was impressed. The staff were really good and very pleasant. This is a town centre pub so noise may be an issue at times but during our stay it was only evident on the friday night (before xmas) which still was not a problem. I would definitely stay there again.

A very clean comfortable and well maintained room. It would have been perfect if the light above the washbasin had worked

Perfect location for a weekend in Cowes. Close to the ferry, bars and rest. No disturbance from the pub either.
