Excellent location and excellent stay. Great breakfast and great staff members.

A lovely place with an excellent gluten free menu. Staff are exceptionally helpful and eager to please. This is a traditional pub with accommodation alongside. Stairs are steep, the road outside is busy but they try very hard to maintain the character of the building. Parking is easy and a good gluten free menu. Recommended.

Lovely country inn / hotel in nice location. Room was spacious and comfortable and surprisingly cool given it was 35C on arrival. Evening meals were ok but not great. Burger seemed shop bought rather than homemade and bacon chop/bubble and squeak portion was disappointingly small- we still enjoyed the meal though and the service was good. Only real poor spot was the breakfast and the service therein. Bacon was small and like shoe leather it had been so badly overcooked. Also, my wife asked for a fried egg over hard (ie fully cooked through) and the waitress (older lady) said, “no - a fried egg” ??? Sure enough on arrival the egg was totally runny and inedible to her taste. What happened to the customer is right?

Public house itself part of a far larger Estate. Interesting history as described by the young lady who runs the establishment with her partner. Good wholesome breakfast presented to the table as opposed to having to serve yourself. Accommodation was more than satisfactory although we did turn down the first room offered for a room on the ground floor in an annex building apparently habited by an elderly lady for most of her life. Outside seating area which afforded a pleasant sun trap although no umbrella provided. Plenty of choice on the menu for evening meal which we enjoyed immensely and even purchased a slice of lemon drizzle cake off the bar to take home with us. Although it is slightly remote it is well within the striking distance of Cheltenham and what we regarded as a reasonable price for the accommodation. Bed and pillows very comfortable and shower clean and of good quality.

Lovely old Inn with nice rooms. Good evening menu. Really enjoyed every meal. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring the Cotswolds. Only downside antiquated feeble shower.

Pleasant stay lovely breakfast

We had a lovely room which had a roll top bath in a very big bathroom Staff were friendly and the pub was relaxing. Breakfast was good to set you up for the day It was in a remote area so in the evening there wasn’t anywhere to walk to and other pubs were of driving distance not walkable..

The room was huge, very nice. Clean everywhere. It was just a night stay and drive further. The restaurant was very ok with plenty alternatives and good pricing. Good ale. Excellent breakfast !! Service was very good. No regrets at all.

We had a wonderful one-night stay. We had a double room with ensuite, which perfectly suited our family of three. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and were great with our young daughter. There is plenty of parking and the pub itself is gorgeous and full of character. The breakfast was incredible - had the Full English, which was so tasty, and there were lots of continental and lighter options too. It’s an absolute gem of a place, and one we’ll definitely return to.

This is a beautiful old inn in the heart of the Cotswolds. It was very convenient to all the places and sites we were planning to see. There are some hikes close by, and they provided maps and directions. The restaurant had a very good menu with lots of choices. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

A pretty and really quiet inn, very comfortable and every member of staff were extremely helpful. The food is really lovely and breakfast offers a great option. Our room was a little tired and needed a deep clean but bedding and bathroom were clean. We would go back as very relaxing stay

Super helpful staff who went above and beyond - thank you for helping me with some urgent printing I needed and for hosting our wedding welcome drinks reception. The rooms are really cosy and the food is so tasty. Included made-to-order hot breakfast is an awesome perk.

This absolutely charming roadside inn is steeped in history. Buildings have been added over the centuries with the focal point being the huge hearth in the main cottage. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The complimentary English breakfast was delicious. A step back in time!

A lot of character and history. Our room was very nostalgic and quite spacious. You don’t get a fridge or AC in these older inns. There’s good beer, decent food and included breakfast. There’s a very small team of younger staff who are quite responsive and who are trying very hard to keep up in a busy environment. I think they deserve some more support to be honest. They appear to be nice kids who are a bit overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to do. We had an ant problem in our room and one staff had to leave the bar unattended to try to deal with it. We also had a booking mix up for our third night (our fault, not Colesbourne’s) and another staff tried very hard to get hold of us and Expedia to try help avoid a check-out check-in overlap with the next guests. Because we were out for the day the housekeeping staff had to pack up our room and they did a very thorough job. I’d say if you’re not too picky and you really love the historic country inn vibe, this is a decent place for you. We probably wouldn’t choose it again having now seen some of the other options in the Cotswolds area. I hope the management recognizes that the young team here is working very hard and is a bit overwhelmed.

This is an old inn in the beautiful Cotswolds. We stayed in a newer annex that was clean and comfortable. There was even a outdoor sitting area to read a book or have a picnic. Carol, who served breakfast most mornings, was a organized and professional - and at the same time welcoming and folksy. My only ask is that there be a few more options for breakfast.
