Great welcome lovely warm room and fantastic food

I presented myself to the bar at check-in and was ignored by two members of staff! I was eventually shown to the room by a third staff member. The room was a mismatch of different furniture and styles which was strange. Bathroom served it purpose and was clean but very poor water pressure in shower and hand basin. Bed was extremely comfortable and the buffet continental breakfast,water, tea and coffee was excellent and done really well! Big problems was noise. I selected the room with a garden view which overlooked the garden and then onto fields, however it was a hot day and I was kept awake by noisy people in the pub garden and then woken early by the noise of the pub kitchen extractor fans turning on when the pub opened for breakfast. Overall the noise was not a major problem and I could live with that . I was upset and annoyed by the check-in experience with staff ignoring me and for that reason I felt very uncomfortable and will not return

Looks like it has recently been redecorated, simple and pleasant style. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast items available to help yourself if leaving before official breakfast time. I’ll be staying again

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to The Railway at Westerfield. Great location with easy access to trains and a large car park on site. The staff are great also, plus wonderful food. Much to like about the Railway Inn.

My stay at the Railway was excellent, the pub is located in an ideal location for exploring Suffolf countryside. The food served is not just typical pub food, it is of high quality.

We were made to feel very welcome. The room was well equipped but had character. Continental breakfast was available or a cooked breakfast could be ordered. We ate our evening meal in the pub. We were well looked after. The menu was more than traditional pub fare with plenty of specials. The portions were generous, attractively served and delicious. We would definitely stay again.

The food was amazing cannot fault it . The staff where very nice and polite and helpful , breakfast was great in the morning would highly recommend this pub

We had a great overnight stay at The railway Inn. All staff were very accommodating & Friendly.. Definitely will stay there again on our next visit to Ipswich.. it’s only a 8 minute taxis journey to the Theatre….

The front room we had at the B&B was very noisy all night. There's a level crossing with trains only 50 metres away. What sounded like a drayman arrived at 10pm. Road noise was a disturbance and then at 2am we were awakened by what sounded like ballast trucks unloading. We didn't get up to investigate quite was going on, but I wondered if night trackwork had commenced. We ate in the restaurant and my Haddock, chunky chips and peas hit the spot. My wife's choice of burger didn't, the bun looked undersized, containing a small Pattie with a little pulled meat on top with a thin slice of cheese. The chips were skinny with no pulp to them, in fact close to unedible. The accompanying coleslaw and salad was the best part. So all in all not a great experience at the Railway, Westerfield.

Good stay and friendly service. Nice selection of food and drink in the communal area.

Perfectly positioned for my needs. Very reasonably priced. Shame there was no bath, but staff couldn’t be more helpful.

Was good stay. Only slight negative was cleaner hoovering the pub at 630am but I suppose you have to take that staying above a pub

Toen we aankwamen was er niemand (21:30 uur) en toen we in de ochtend weggingen hebben we ook niemand gezien. Alles heel onpersoonlijk. Het ontbijt wordt pas vanaf 9:00 uur geserveerd. Dat was voor ons veel te laat. Weer een B&B met alleen een Bed en geen Breakfast.

Clean and well kept, friendly staff, easy going atmosphere, would stay again.

Excellent local pub vibe - only arrived late but great food and wine
