The location is both great and awkward at the same time. Great because it is close enough to walk to town without needing to use the car, but awkward for those of us who can't cope so well with the hill climb back to the hotel. It's fine for young/fit/healthy! There are two or three bus numbers which do go up the hill past the hotel entrance, just a couple of stops from the town, which is a lot cheaper than the taxi option. For us, the dining was too 'haute cuisine' for our taste so we went into town to eat, but that's personal taste. However, the breakfast was great (buffet, full English plus many other things). There was no proper lounge to relax in during the evening, but there were sofas and chairs in some other places. The lift only serves the main hotel building, so expect only stairs in the Courtyard rooms, and external apartments. Our particular en-suite had a nasty smell on arrival which we reported. Our short stay unfortunately meant there was no time to use the leisure facilities so can't comment on those. All the staff were pleasant, and the grounds were nice to walk around. Our stay was at the end of April 2025, and parking in town during the mornings was just achievable, but I guess would be almost impossible during high season.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was spacious, clean, and lovely.

Great place to stay! Exceeded expectations! Great location, just a few minutes' walk through a shortcut to the beaches! Clean and spotless! Nice buildings with windows facing the sea! A separate room for two children and a little stair gate for baby protection. The staff looks elegant yet warm-hearted, like royal British service. I recommend it!

Great resort

It was near the beach and accessible. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The rooms were spacious however we could hear all the noise from the neighbours as well as from above. The hot water from the shower took a very long time and there was no phone inside the room to call. I am aware that we live in the UK so it was okay but if you are a foreigner having to use your own phone may be a challenge and as it was raining- going to the reception across the courtyard is an inconvenience. We didn’t need to but just a very small comment. We were not able to use most of the facilities but would highly recommend and would not think twice to book again and enjoy the facilities. The staff were super friendly and helpful and always with a smile.

Polite staff. Plenty to do within hotel grounds if weather is bad. Loved the entertainment in the hotel for children and families.

Absolutely loved the place . Amazing property, great views and facilities. Only 1 issue was there was an awful smell from the bath after the shower was used .

Tregenna is always excellent.

I was at the Castle 38 years ago and was so overjoyed to return. And was not disappointed . It was a wonderful experience. Well done and I'll see you when I return.

This is reviewing the cheapest rooms of the resort. Price was good for time of year and location is 5-10min walk to the harbour (if don’t mind hills) so not too far. The room was ok with the basics. Noise if what you’d expect for age of building but wasn’t the worst. Main issue I had was the bed. The mattress felt cheap and hard which made it an uncomfortable nights sleep. Is a shame as rest of the place looked good if with some signs of wear in places. If you can afford the suites or lodges they seem to of been fairly recent and where they spent the money on.

Beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were spacious and vet quiet. We were very lucky with the weather which topped it all.

Lovely location situated at the top of St Ives … a bit of a trek up the hill from the harbour. Hotel was lovely. Had a lovely room at the back of the hotel over looking tennis courts and gardens. Buffet breakfast very nice. All staff very friendly. Enjoyed the indoor pool .

Large room, clean and tidy lacked character. Reception tried to upsell breakfast (at £18 per person, no thank you!). Swimming pool was closed for maintenance - fair enough, but no apology from staff, or even mention of it being closed on arrival, just a notice on the reception desk. It was a room for the night, and we were underwhelmed.
