Loved this place! Tranquil and affordable. One thing is Wi-Fi is too slow to really do anything but starlink could fix that easily! I would get ~1mbps. Maybe we shouldn’t even need wifi but for practical reasons having a reliable source is nice.

I really enjoyed my stay at Maravu Taveuni Resort. My bure was beautiful, with the added charm of an outdoor shower, and felt tucked away in the jungle while still offering stunning sunset views over the ocean. The shower had trouble with water pressure and heat with the drought.
The staff made the experience especially memorable. Ima and the front desk team were always warm, welcoming, and helpful. Rafa and Cali were incredible guides. I had a great time on my trips with Rafa to the waterfalls and the Waitavala waterslides, where he taught us so much about the island. I also appreciated that he helped me and another solo traveler split a trip when not enough people had signed up. It meant we still got to enjoy the experience. Cali and Rafa also shared local traditions and knowledge, from basket weaving to identifying fruit trees, and the nightly kava ceremonies with music were such a special way to connect with Fijian culture.
The resort itself feels less “resorty” and more like an authentic island experience, with a strong sense of community and adventure. The staff go above and beyond to help arrange snorkeling, diving, taxis, and guided excursions. The restaurant food was excellent, and they were accommodating of dietary needs.
Maravu is the perfect choice if you want to experience the natural beauty and culture of Taveuni with kind, knowledgeable people to guide you. I left with wonderful memories and would gladly return.

The staff were very nice and our bure was nice and clean. However, they fail to mention that they run on a generator and there is no power between 11am and 4pm.
We had an outdoor shower that was nice but couldn't get any water pressure or hot water reliably. Sometimes the water was hot for 30 seconds, sometimes not at all. When you're constantly going into the ocean, you need a reliable shower to wash off the salt and sand.
The restaurant had good breakfast, but no free coffee or tea. The rest of the meals were sometimes good, sometimes not so good. I think it's difficult to get groceries on Taveuni. The supermarkets have very little variety of food.
Online they said it was a 3% fee for paying by card at the restaurant, but they charged us 5%. And for all the tours you have to pay cash.
While the rainbow reef was amazing, and so was Tavoro falls, there is very little to do on this island and very few beaches. 5 days was too long on the island, should have been 3.

The accommodations, a large garden bure, was authentic, nice decor and well maintained. Very large outdooor shower was interesting. Hotel is very close to the airport which is why we chose this lodge as an overnight stay.
Lack of staff customer service brought the rating down to an Okay.
Every interaction was disappointing (or non existent ). Check in, wrong room, no electricity until 4pm, no welcome drink although lobby signs offered, and hotel breakfast nor coffee not available at designated time.
But overall value and true “Fiji time” well represented.

The staff are very good, but this property is very tired and in need of a major update. The pictures DO NOT look anything like what we stayed in. The air conditioning did not work, the toilet leaks (from the bowl), cleaning staff did not clean the room, ants are everywhere in the room.

Good food! However, the rooms are dark and damp. And be aware that the AC and all electricity is turned off at 11:00 a.m. and doesn’t go back on until 4:00 p.m. So the hottest part of the day is without AC.

나름 예쁘게 꾸며진 정원과 풀장. 공항과도 가까워서 좋았습니다. 숙소도 나름 좋았어요.
그런데 예약할때 메일과 페이스북통해서 가격에 대해 의논을 충분히 했다고 생각했고 페이스북 답장을 ID를 가져오면 10프로 할인해준다는 답장을 받았으나 약속을 지키지 않아서 참 답답했어요

We had really a nice stay in Maravu Lodge wirh a wonderful view of the ocean to enjoy the beautiful sunsets from our bure. The di e centers are vety close (we can really recommend "salt divers" with their daily dive trips to the rainbow reef) and also the restaurant inside the Lodge. We loved the delicous food. The staff was very helpful in organizing our trip to the Bouma waterfall. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Loved my week long stay at Taveuni. I decided on this place for the grounds, accessibility to the ocean, and opportunity to interact with others. The plantation grounds were lovely. Rooms are variable - I recommend Bure 112 (upgraded) or 5. Haven’t seen many others. The restaurant was reliable - big meals in the evenings. Great omelet and pancakes. Try the road for the best roti, papaya and plantains or a fish meal for $1.50-$5 US. Kava and songs in the evenings.
Lovely ladies in staff will help you with everything you need. Fins and snorkel, towel rental. Shower out back for late flight departures. Nice pool.
Central location. Excursions with Pete, Mateo and Batman car were great. Walking distance to a couple food places, airport and two small markets, and beautiful evening sunsets (Tramonte)/sunrises.

Shower is outside, not private. Toilet didn’t flush. They turned off the electricity from 10am-3pm every day. One little ac unit for too large spaces. Windows didn’t close properly. Staff was wonderful. Facility poor.

A quiet and peaceful place. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
However, you shouldn't expect the room to be cleaned, probably due to lack of house keepers. The check-in time is 2PM, but I needed to wait till 4PM since the room was not ready. Also, the next day the house keeper came around 5pm and it was too late. On the third day, I had requested cleaning for the room, but they didn't even come to the room.
