Wir waren 5 Nächte im Cayo Exclusive Resort & Spa. Die Lage ist für Ruhesuchende ideal – ruhig in Plaka gelegen, ohne große Hotelanlagen in der Nähe, sehr exklusiv. Zum Strand gelangt man entweder zu Fuß oder mit dem Shuttle. Ohne Mietwagen ist man jedoch recht eingeschränkt, wenn man die Insel erkunden möchte. Das Hotel wirkt insgesamt hochwertig, unser Zimmer war groß, modern und wurde zweimal täglich sehr gründlich gereinigt. Positiv hervorzuheben sind die kostenlosen Wasserflaschen auf dem Zimmer. Allerdings hatten wir im Zimmer mehrere Mängel: Unter der Tür war ein großer Spalt, durch den immer wieder Insekten (Mücken, Spinnen, Grillen) hereinkamen – wir mussten den Spalt notdürftig mit einem Handtuch abdecken. Zudem leuchtete nachts dauerhaft ein sehr helles Licht neben der Tür, das sich nicht ausschalten ließ. Auch die Duschtür schloss nicht richtig, sodass nach jedem Duschen das gesamte Badezimmer unter Wasser stand. Beim Frühstück fehlte uns ebenfalls der 5-Sterne-Standard: Mal bekamen wir Kaffee aus der Siebträgermaschine, mal nur aus dem Automaten. Zudem mussten wir fast immer 20–30 Minuten auf bestellte Eierspeisen warten. Die Anlage an sich ist zwar gepflegt, doch auch hier gibt es Mängel: Zu wenige Sonnenschirme am Pool, manche davon kaputt und zudem wenig funktional. Eine defekte Liege wurde erst nach mehreren Tagen entfernt. Fazit: Ein optisch schönes & ruhiges Hotel mit toller Lage, erfüllt nicht die Erwartungen an ein 5-Sterne-Haus in dieser Preisklasse.

Stunning property and very kind staff! Went in early May for a babymoon and couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. Will be back and bring the little one next year.

Espectacular resort en todos los sentidos: las instalaciones, el servicio, la comida. El personal es muy amable y siempre pendiente para ayudarte y atenderte. Plaka es un lugar increíble, tranquilo, realmente para descansar. Hay además restaurantes excelentes en el pueblo.

Superb service and good food. This hotel stands out from many others in Crete for its location, close to a very pretty village with genuinely excellent tavernas. The island of Spinalonga also adds a lot of charm to the area.

Absolutely sensational! We stayed in a family deluxe room with private pool and ocean views! Stunning! Breakfast was delicious, restaurant selection and spa service was impressive. Would stay here again without a doubt. Could not fault one thing! LOVED IT! Highly recommended! Worth every cent!!!

The resort is a beautiful oasis of calm. The staff are charming and helpful and the whole place is so beautifully designed. It is a short walk (5-10 minutes) into the tiny town of Plaka, but it is a town packed with excellent restaurants.

Truly outstanding hotel. Room was immaculately clean, great view, fantastic cocktails and food, wonderful staff and great attention to the details. I would recommend without hesitation.

Room is clean, plenty of space, amazing view over the sea and Spinalonga. Private pool is worth a 5 star review on its own but the rest of the hotel adds even more, definitely worth it.

CAYO is amazing. We spent the first few days of our honeymoon here and I am happy we did. The staff was upbeat, on top of everything, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. On first night we received the most wonderful cake and bottle of wine as a wedding present. The cake was so perfect that it didn't look real. Plaka, the surrounding town arean, is so quiet and relaxing; no hustle and bustle traffice and noise. If you are looking to relax in a peaceful setting with excellent views then this is the place to be. Eloundas is a short drive with plenty of dining and shopping if you feel like getting out. One negative for some is the beach. If you want a sandy beach, this isn't it. CAYO's beach restaurant (which is a short shuttle ride away because the hotel is not on the water) is called Stone Beach for a reason. While the stones may not be everyone's ideal material, it does make for a very relaxing audio experience when the waves hit the beach. When I am in Crete again I would go out of my way to stay at CAYO, if only for a night. I wish we had spent our entire honeymoon at this resort.

Beautiful resort, extraordinary staff, delicious breakfast, thoughtfully designed rooms for families, nice gym and pools, convenient and easily walkable to the beach and town. Truly an extraordinary stay in every way. Kelari Restaurant is delicious and unique, and we had two amazing dinners there with exceptional service and lovely Cretan wine. One of the best resorts in which we have had the pleasure of staying. We'll be back!

Excellent séjour dans cet hôtel ! Nous avons particulièrement appréciés les piscines, la piscine de la chambre, le petit déjeuner qualitatif avec un choix varié (fruits frais, viennoiseries, jus d’orange pressé, fromages, pancake…), la plage privée, la beauté des lieux. Le staff est aux petits soins, attentifs et réactifs Merci à eux.
