Perhaps the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed. The views were breathtaking and location was perfect— close to Sougia and Samaria Gorge where we had a beautiful day of hiking. Very romantic for our honeymoon and the staff were beyond kind, generous, and helpful. It was a perfect stay with so much beauty that we will never forget! Highly recommended!!

The estate surpassed our expectations. The view from our room was absolutely breath taking. We enjoyed coffee in the morning with the White mountains as our view. My wife watched as a local farmer's sheep herd mades its way down the road. We loved the traditional Cretan food at the local tavernas. The short distance to the water front village of Sougia was nice. Many restaurants to choose from. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Very friendly and hospitable staff. Lovely views. Great hot tub. Nice having your own kitchen area. Spacious bedroom. Dark bathroom that needed more lighting. Parking and approach to the property was challenging.

I stayed 2 nights at the Estate Retreat followed by 2 nights at the guest house. The guest house has a beautiful location just as the hotel nearby. However, few things need improvement: 1) Shower had no doors. The water would leak all over while showering and turn the bathroom in a true swimming pool. 2) Place is kind of (too) rustic for my taste. Not everyone would like it I guess. 3) Not even bottles of water were provided in the fridge. 4) A/C was a bit tired. However all these negative things were neutered by the nice and welcoming team which made my stay a good stay. If I have to come again, I'd rather stay at the Estate Retreat instead of the guest house.

Amazing property with spectacular mountain views and easy access to the beautiful and relaxed town and beaches of Sougia. The owner and staff are extremely warm and friendly, with exceptional quality food. We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary and would strongly recommend it for a romantic stay or as a great locationfor walking or a relaxing at The local beaches and taverners. We wish we could have stayed longer and would love to return one day!

We stayed for a week. A wonderful spot and marvellous, welcoming service from Flora. Breakfast a good option. Need a car but ideal for trips to beaches and walks. Samaria Gorge is a recommended, long walk. Sougia is close with bars, beach and restaurants.

We had a good time there--2 nights. Souia was quaint, quiet, and very relaxing. Marianna made some recommendations for restaurants in Souia and they were outstanding. Some of the best food we had in the 38 days we were in Greece.

Monastery Estate est sans aucun doute un très bel endroit pour se reposer au calme dans un appartement confortable jouissant d'une très belle vue sur les montagnes. L'accueil de Marianna est chaleureux et attentif. Elle s'est montrée toujours disponible. Les nombreuses petites attentions tout au long de notre séjour ont été un vrai régal. Merci aussi à Vera.

The Monastery Estate is a beautifully restored family house in the tiny village of Moni, not far from Sougia and the sea. It's an incredibly peaceful, intimate place with comfortable, quirky, stylish rooms and large patios. The view over to the White Mountains is breathtaking and there is great hiking nearby. We were extremely well looked after by Katerina and Marianne - nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful with local suggestions. Highly recommended!
