Radisson Blu St. Helen's Hotel

I stay in hotels all over the world and this is absolutly not a 5 star hotel ,barely a three. I have known this hotel for years and decided to book for a 4 day trip. On arrival the main building is lovely, serving staff in the bar and resturant were very friendly although young and inexperienced and the main grounds are well cared for. Thats where the positives stop. As a VIP location for Expedia and with my platinum status I should he’s been offered a room upgrade and discount on a meal spend. I was never offered this. The hotel listed EV chargers. All were out of order. When we got to the room it was 13 degrees and would not go up. They sent someone to look at it and it was stuck then at 27 degrees for a few hours before returning to 13 degrees. The list of items that were not working kept growing, the fridge in the room as well as the kettle. The decor was tired and dirty in places with loose sockets,cracked tiles in the bathroom and ripped lampshades. We had a light in the rooms internal hallway that kept flashing all night. The icemaker in the hallway also did not work. Then weirdly the bar closed at 11 midweek which almost every person I spoke with thought was way too early and the prices were more in keeping with the tourist traps in the city. Sadly I would seriously think twice about booking here this Fawlty Towers again.

Room was cold also ev chargers for car needs abit of tlc but we love staying there

We found the hotel beautiful & appreciated the extras in our room. It’s really just the speed of service for everything that was disappointing but this is probably because they were at full capacity.

Warmth in room, many requests were promised they would be filled but were not. Personnel were nice but clueless. To most things they responded "I don't know". Then who does?

Un hotel en un Palacio muy bien conservado. Los espacios comunes muy bonitos, las habitaciones muy cómodas y espaciosas, pero el baño pequeño y sin la elegància que le correspondería a la habitación. Nos faltó poder desayunar en un salón en lugar del espacio destinado al desayuno.

Stay was great. Great hotel. 3rd stay at the property this year.

Stayed a night for a business event so didnt use all the facilities...room was comfortable shower just ok...excellent bed...had the buffet breakfast following morning which was just ok and could have been hotter...

Very beautiful, amazing gardens, the Italian restaurant was amazing, the food and staff were great!

Character building

The hotel was originally a manor house. It retains all the charm and elegance. The staff is amazing, helpful and friendly. Both restaurants are great, and the breakfast made you want to get out of bed.

Las instalaciones y jardines

Music blaring from a wedding while we tried to sleep. Bathroom was extremely outdated. Hair everywhere on the floor amd bath (I did mention this to reception and they quickly had this cleaned up). This is in no way a 5 star hotel!!
