Sheraton Athlone Hotel

Wonderful stay

Very comfy rooms in a great location. Large rooms too. Perhaps they could do with an update but it’s my favourite place to stay in Athlone. Close to everything.

Exceptionally well presented room. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. A perfect stop over point on our journey from Dublin to the west coast, enjoyed a walk around the town and a drink in Sean’s bar.

Best hotel in Athlone in my opinion and I’ve stayed in all the main ones, room was spacious and comfortable, food was really nice with great options, staff were very helpful and interested in our stay being pleasant, I will be back

I wouldn't say this is a 4* hotel. The rooms are very basic but comfy bed. The gym and pool is open to the public so its busy. The hotel cleaners were very helpful but the reception staff were not. Our key card consistently didn't work and when we asked reception to order a taxi for us so we could get to our wedding they were not helpful at all - surely reception staff at a 4* hotel are capable of ordering taxi's for guests?

I liked everything about my stay in the Sheraton, from parking, check in, room cleaning, breakfast and superb staff, will definitely stsy again, 5 star.

Just back from a weekend break in The Sheraton, Athlone & it was great. This is our 4th time staying here & it won't be our last. We had a river view room on the 8th floor. The bed was huge & really comfortable. The room was large & nicely decorated. The bathroom was large and had a bath & a separate shower cubicle. All the staff were really nice & friendly & Alan on reception was a great help at check-in. Breakfast buffet was lovely & plentiful. Will be looking forward to returning soon.

Great stay at the sheraton, we had to move from another hotel at the last minute due to lack of air con and the staff were so accommodating at short notice. Can't fault the staff or the venue. Parking was free, food options were excellent and staff were faultless.

Liked central location.

We had a great stay at the Sheraton, we had an upgrade on checking in and stayed in a huge room with two double beds and a sofa bed! The pool is lovely (more for lounging than swimming) but you need to bring or buy a swimming cap (€2). We had a buffet breakfast included and it was great too. There is parking under the hotel and the cost is covered by the hotel. All in all a great place to stay!

Clean and beautiful room, STAFFS ARE GREAT. Especially Risma at the restaurant, she is from Indonesia. Breakfast so good as always and lots to choose from. Parking is easy and free. Location is good too. Very central

Great hotel - clean, convenient, and swanky! The only drawback was the need to use two different elevators and a connecting passage to get to our room in the "tower". I would suggest asking for a room in the main building to avoid getting lost (as I would have done if my partner didn't have superb situational awareness). Otherwise, a fantastic stay!

Best hotel breakfast in all of Ireland. Friendly staff and very professional.

It's a bit of a mess in 3 parts, Don't whatever you do park below level A before dropping your luggage at that level. If no spaces (it is part of a shopping centre/mall) and you have to park in level B (the floor below) then only way is to use an incredibly fast moving with narrow treads. Once on level A parking (hotel -1) you need to take an escalator up to Ground Floor level. Then you take another elevator up 2 floors, get out, walk along a glazed corridor linking that part of the hotel to the tower part. Entrance to that is with the room card, the door is quite heavy and has a very heavy strong spring? system to close ASAP. Our rooms were on the 6th floor (of 11). So not friendly for anyone of more advanced years
