Great location. Wonderful host. Clean room and bathroom.

We had a lovely stay and met up with the great host. He gave us a lot of good advice and was very helpful. Highly recommend if you want a stay close to all sights and good restaurants.

Very nice and clean room and an excellent location. Exactly in the heart of the city. Max , the host , is simply amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful. Upon my arrival I was given all instructions, recommendations etc.

Once you learn the "key system", the room is perfect. Max was very helpful to an English speaking tenant.

The double room at the first floor was really good with black-out blinds and well insulated from the noise outside! Max and Tiziana have been wonderful hosts, offering great insights to experience a wonderful long weekend in Catania!

What an amazing 2 days we had in the Al Duomo. It's literally in the heart of Catania and you can feel the vibe and rawness right from your balcony. But you can shut it out when you want to sleep! Our host Max was wonderful, giving us all the tourist tips and info we needed and loved the 4 euro breakfast deal he had done with the cafe round the corner. Will definitely be back.

Excellent location, close to sights. Max, the owner of the B&B, was very friendly and accommodating. My flight landed late at night, and I was worried there would be nobody to check me in, as it was a last-minute booking due to the cancellation of another B&B I had booked earlier. However, Max replied promptly and kindly sent very detailed instructions on how to get in. At 1 a.m., I managed to get into my room with no issues. Max even sent me a message to check on how I was doing, which was very kind. My room had everything I needed for a one-night stay: a comfy bed, shower, TV, fridge, and coffee. The following day, after check-out, Max’s sister kindly allowed me to leave my luggage at reception before my coach to Palermo, which was very helpful and gave me the chance to explore Catania. Both hosts speak very good English, which is especially helpful in Sicily. Thank you, Max & co. All the best. Ciao!

Max was the best host ever. He was available to help us with all sorts of things. The room was clean and in a perfectocation just steps from the Duomo Piazza. Great restaurants close by and just 5 minutes wal to the bus station.

Max and his sister are excellent host. He even recommended several places for us to visit and also set us up with a Mt. Etna tour. This was a perfect location and convenient to many places. Thank you Max, we’ll be back and will be sure to stay here again. Ciao

The owners are absolutely fantastic. Max was super nice and told us so many different places that we should visit while there and the best modes of transportation for each different place. He even arranged an Etna tour for us. The location was perfect! It is right at the Piazza al Duomo, where you can walk less than a minute to see the square, the church, plenty of dining options and lots of little shops. Right around the corner is Via Etna, which provides a great view of the volcano. The only downside was that there was ongoing restoration/renovation of the building, which included scaffolding along the front of the building. The scaffolding did inhibit some of the view that we would otherwise be afforded, but the construction workers were very considerate and didn't bother us at all. Highly recommend if you want convenience and a nice quiet place to stay.

meraviglioso soggiorno in albergo Max! This Inn is in the perfect location. It is a typical European room. Do not expect frills, large bathroom or room for excess luggage. Believe me, you don’t need it! You will be in your room to sleep. The rest of the waking hours you are wondering the fish market, which is no more than a three minute walk; you are enjoying a cafe or glass of wine the piazza, just steps from the inn, or you are enjoying a tour of the surrounding countryside. Al Duomo Inn is in the perfect location for taking in all of Catania with the friendliest of hosts. If you are looking for a hotel retreat, spending large amounts of time in your room. This is not the hotel for you. However, if you want to get out and enjoy all Catania and the region has to offer, this is your spot!

The proprietors of Al Duomo run their small inn as a “vocation” in almost a religious sense, with an exceptional dedication to their guests’ wellbeing. The rooms are impeccably clean, and Max goes way beyond what one normally expects to ensure that your entire experience in Catania goes as planned. Given the unexpected nature of international travel, Al Duomo offers more than just a room. It provides a great sense of orientation for getting on with the trip while making the most of Catania. Its central location with great street life and food makes for a very good stay.

We stayed 4 nights at the Inn & it was an amazing experience!! From the property’s location, to the clean, large & well appointed rooms with a high ceiling & louvered window coverings. The amenities in the bathroom, a mini bar (very reasonable prices) & a safe. Max & his sister have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome & comfortable - from self-serve coffee in the lobby & cookies, easily accessible guide books & brochures, breakfast coupon for purchase at a restaurant just around the corner & even after you’ve checked out - the opportunity to safely store your luggage in the lobby until you depart. Max went above and beyond recommending great places to eat, sights to see & even booked tours on our behalf. Max is passionate about his city & it shows! We’ll soon be returning to Catania & the Il Duomo Inn B&B.

Centro Palermo is a noisy & high energy area - lots & lots of folks on the street until very late. If you’re a light sleeper like me, bring your earplugs you’ll sleep like a baby.
