The staff were lovely and the room was very nice; we loved the heated floors in the bathroom and the towels and linen were excellent. It maybe a bit of a stretch to call this a resort when the pool is not heated (and therefore not useable in February). The breakfast was exceptional.

Staff is amazing, you feel everyone is happy to be there. Welcome drinks were amazing and check in well thought through with no standing and waiting; room is great; very eco friendly hotel , amazing views on volcano or sea; lemon trees everywhere; restaurant food and service impeccable ; the only thing we would say is breakfast needs a bit more variety like fruit, veg, potatoes, sausages, oranges, olives etc; plenty of fresh cakes which are delicious

This is a hidden gem of a hotel. The hotel itself is lovely and our bungalow had 2 distinct bedrooms as advertised (not always the case with hotels), a lounge and outside seating area and dining table. As it was at the other end of the complex through the impressive plant nursery, we were provided with our own golf buggy to travel around the hotel grounds, which was an added bonus. The accommodation had its own private plunge pool to complement the hotel pool and the staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try the fantastic looking menu at the hotel restaurant, as it too nice for young children but we did have lunch at the pool bar and utilised the room service menu, all of which were great. Breakfast is extensive and served in a beautiful garden. We would have loved to have longer at the hotel. Great views of Etna and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Located conveniently just 40 mins from Catania airport, we would definitely go back. A real find.

The staff at Donna Carmela catered to our every need. The breakfast was amazing with lots to choose from. We had a delicious dinner outside among the gardens. The trees with little sparkling lights and soft music playing in the background make it very special. The rooms were large and very comfortable with all amenities you may need. I would definitely recommend it.

We stayed for four nights and were very sorry to leave. Room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the standard of housekeeping throughout was excellent. Service everywhere is friendly and efficient, and pool deck is great place to soak up the sun and admire the views of Etna and the sea. Dinners were fantastic, real problem in choosing between so many lovely dishes and great Sicilian wines.

And enchanting hotel with a warm personable staff. Comfortable rooms with beautiful furniture. Lovely pool and breakfast area. And a very delicious buffet table. The restaurant exceeded our expectations.
Must return soon.

We had a great stay at the Donna Carmela Resort. It's a beautiful property full with plenty of space and wonderful greenery. We were upgraded to a 2-floor room which allowed for space with our child. The pool is also wonderful and was very quiet while we were there. Breakfast was amazing, there is a huge table of Sicilian sweet treats to choose from, plus a small continental buffet and plenty of a la carte options. The resort is well-located between Catania and Taormina but the area itself around the hotel doesn't have much to offer, one really needs a car to get around.
