We had such an amazing experience here. Great place in this charming village of Japan. We’ll definitely come back.

The ryokan is in the perfect location for wandering around Shibu Onsen and is right next to all the public baths. They provide a shuttle service to and from the local train station in Yudanaka and a free shuttle to the Monkey Park. They have a breakfast menu and serve dinner on some nights but not all, so be prepared to find your own food in the town. Note that the food options can be limited as many places have varying opening hours. The Ryokan is traditional, the rooms are big and clean and you make your own beds. They provide yukata and everything you need to enjoy the public onsens. There are shared bathrooms and limited shower facilities. Gendered bathrooms are on different floors, you may not have a bathroom on your floor. The ryokan has many rooms and gets quite busy so book your shuttles early. The staff were wonderful and speak excellent English. The Ryokan was excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience this delightful town without spending a fortune on accommodation.

War gut

Very welcoming Ryokan, with stylish old style room. Just take care not to make noise. But the village is really cute in the middle of the mountain with the 9 public hot springs.

Friendly staff and everything was easy for us. Shuttle service to & from station was excellent as well as to the monkey park.

Fantastic! If you are looking for the plushest hotel with facilities everywhere … then not for you. If you want a beautiful traditional ryokan with access to the baths, clean showers and great service where the staff go extra without even asking then stay here. As a father and two sons staying in a traditional room we had a great time.

The staff was friendly. Upon arrival the guest gets a yukata and a key to 9 public thermal springs around the town, where he may bath freely. Note that they are extremely hot. The staff also offers a free ride to the Snow Monkey Park or Yudanaka Station in the morning.

建物は古いですがよく改修されていて、シャワーやお手洗いはキレイで掃除が行き届いており快適でした。

The 9 public onsens (baths) were interesting, #9 was the best imo, but the town itself is captivating.

車で行くときは1900迄に公共駐車場が閉まってしまうので要注意。部屋はリノベーションしてもう少し清潔性がほしい。 外湯の温泉の泉質は9つあり、純粋に温泉を楽しむには隠れた名湯かもしれない。

A beautiful Ryokan in a typical Japanese village. A unique experience in a lovely room. Enjoy the little onsens, each one with different water sources.

The staff were amazing and very accommodating with bags. They actually have a pick up service depending on your arrival and departure times. This was a bonus since it worked out when we were leaving. Our room was very spacious and comfortable!

Would highly recommend this inn for a stay in the Japanese Alps. The staff are absolutely amazing - nothing is too much trouble for them and they're always around to offer you help and support. There is a free shuttle service both to and from the train station and up to the Monkey park. The rooms are spacious and we were very comfortable on our futons ☺️ The onsen hopping is also a great attraction...worth the trip out of the city to see!

申し込み段階の表示が不鮮明。 朝食在り、と表示されていたから朝食が含まれているかと思たらそうではなかった。 旅館とあるがホステルのようで驚いた。

The staff were very friendly and helpful making this a relaxed and comfortable stay. It is an old building but well kept. Not as fancy as some places down the road but extra charming. The public onsens were fun to try. Their shuttles are well organized and we had no trouble booking the times to private onsen and monkey park that we wanted. Excellent service and stay and would return and recommend to others.
