The landlord and service staff were very friendly and they went to great lengths to satisfy our every needs... Shared bathroom is not so great, though...

The place is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. They really do take care of the place and it shows. Our family of 3 had a great time staying there. I’d like to especially call out Bungo who went through a tremendous amount of effort to help our family find an alternative route to shirakawago when all the transport were full departing from Kanazawa. Thanks a million!!

Staff were really kind and even refunded one of my nights that I couldn’t make due to horrible snow. Facilities were great and a nice Onsen.

Fantastic stay, best location and we loved our room (OHGI)

For some reason I thought there would be a garden surrounding the ryokan, but not the property owner’s fault that I invented that haha. GREAT staff. GREAT stay. Loved it.

A fabulous, quaint, traditional property in a superb location. The free hot bathing room privately available, was very enjoyable too. The proprietor was very attentive and helpful and you can tell he's rightly very proud to be Japanese. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say is we found the mattresses uncomfortable. That may be just our bodies, but we struggled.

This ryokan has been in Bungo’s family for over 130 years. The amenities are clean and functional if dated. The service was fantastic—Bungo preemptively welcomed us to Kanazawa be way of detailed, helpful email. Upon checkin, he gave us a thorough tour and guidance around the facilities and even called a local restaurant to help us with reservations. As a westerner, floor sleeping on a futon was a new experience. For those who won’t be comfortable with this, it’s probably best to reach out to Bungo to see what options they can offer.

Without doubt, the most helpful, genuine, friendly managers that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Great location central to a number of attractions and a short walk from the rest. Some great restaurants very close as well as a convenience store.

Ce ryokan est fantastique. Chambre traditionnelle immense et de toute beauté. Accueil chaleureux de Bungo et sa mère, toujours disponibles pour nous aider (donner des indications, donner accès à des vélos, appeler un taxi, nous référer un bon restaurant). Pour une expérience unique et traditionnelle, c’est l’endroit idéal.

Host reached out to us ahead of time with a welcoming email so the tone was set for a warm and rewarding stay. Once we arrived, his suggestions were exceptional (the ninja castle! fireflies out in the sculpture walk! the restaurant around the corner! the old neighborhoods!) He is the 5th-generation to run this ryokan and his pride in the place shows in every detail. Close to everything and authentic in every way. A wonderful place.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang mit vielen Tipps, was man in der Umgebung machen kann. Super geräumiges Zimmer mit heißen Wasser in einer Thermoskanne, um Tee zu machen. Japanisches Bad im Keller - super nach einem langen Tag. Es gibt einen Aufenthaltsraum mit Mikrowelle und Kaffeemaschine. Ebenso gibt es Leihfahrräder in der Unterkunft. Sehr, sehr nette Unterkunft. Würden es wieder buchen.

clean, kind and comfortable

お風呂もトイレも共用でしたが、お風呂は小さい子もいた為貸切にしてくださいました。 トイレもとても綺麗で、お手入れが行き届いていました。 とても快適に過ごせました。 ありがとうございました。

お風呂の時間や、近隣のお店の情報など、親身になって対応していただきました。 居心地も、とてもよかったです。 金沢に来たときは、また利用します！
