사진과 예약평을 보고 반신반의하며 예약했어요. 그러나 내가 예상했던 것보다 훨씬 좋았어요. 스테프들도 친절하고 호텔과 객실도 고풍스럽고 조식도 간결했지만 좋았어요. 다만 위치적으로 좀 외지다고할까?? 그리고 이슬람 기도시간 방송 같은것이 새벽에도 나온다는거..요런것들이 흠이라면 흠이네요.

말레이시아 왕립 세관에서 발표한 바와 같이, 2023년 1월 1일부터 말레이시아 비거주자 또는 영주권자가 아닌 모든 호텔 투숙객에게 관광세가 부과됩니다. 호텔에서 체크인 시 관광세를 징수할 예정입니다. 관광세율은 객실당 1박당 10 RM입니다.

Effective from June 1, 2014, the City Council of Penang will impose a Local Council Tax of MYR 3 per room per night for 4 and 5-star hotels, and MYR 2 per room per night for 0 to 3-star hotels. The star rating will be in accordance to the rating from Local Council and should the rating differ from the website, the local council rating will apply. This fee is payable directly to the hotel upon check-in and is not included in the room rate and taxes stated herein. With effect from 01 September 2017, with reference to the Law of Malaysia Act 791, Tourism Act 2017, hotel guests who are non-Malaysian or non-Permanent Resident of Malaysia, are committed to a Tourism Tax of MYR 10.00 nett per room night of stay as determined and imposed by the Malaysian Government, which is not included in the reservation and will be collected by the hotel upon check in. This is to be applied in-addition to existing fees/taxes levied and the existing local tourism fee in Penang. In line with local authority guidelines and industry best practices, please be assured that we have introduced additional cleanliness and precautionary measures in our hotel, including: - Temperature screening of all persons entering the hotel premises with daily record-keeping -Sanitization stations provided in key public areas -Enforced social distancing practices throughout the hotel premises -Frequent sanitisation of common areas and high contact points -Rigorous cleaning and sanitisation of guest rooms -Reinforced food safety and standard practices -Comprehensive training of our employees to ensuring proper hygiene and awareness of COVID-19. All reservations at Areca Hotel Penang can enjoy Penang Road Teochew Chendul by claiming from the property restaurant during afternoon tea time. The room was superb with a lot of space, particularly for 4 persons. It was also very clean.
I would pick this hotel once again if I come back.

Pros: Centrally located in the city. Walking distant ( literally across the street) to many famous food stalls. Polite and helpful staff. Fairly painless check in and quick checkout. Free wi fi. Free afternoon tea between 3 and 5pm daily. Steps away from the city free bus stop. You can take this bus to visit most of the attraction in downtown.
Cons: Because of its location, it can be noisy 24/7 ( they are aware of this and they are ready to provide earplugs upon request). One side of the hotel faces a banquet hall. So it can be very noisy during weekends. No ventilation fan in the washroom. Toilet paper is a bit thin. Not comfortable to use. The bed mattress was sagging in many places. We live in two different rooms and they're both like that. The lighting in the room was dim. I was having difficult time looking clearly at myself when shaving.

Really great location in Georgetown,characterful heritage room, really spacious with wardrobe, iron, and two bottles of mineral water provided daily,and fridge.Excellent AC AND ceiling fan, a nice sitting area for guests and helpful,friendly staff-special mention to Nasrin for welcoming me and help throughout stay.
Only downside is a little bit of street noise, but I'd definitely stay here again.

We are 2 senior adults from Australia who recently stayed 4 nights at Areca Hotel, Penang. The location was very central and easy to find. The rooms were spacious and clean. The shower was hot and plenty of water. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

All staff was helpful. Location was central. Room was decently clean and size is generous for their smallest room. Walking distance to many popular food stalls. We didnt request for room cleaning during our stay (ie. More than 1 week) , but when we asked for toilet paper, towel, bottled drinking water, coffee, etc, the staff was quick to provide. However, they dont have any shaver. Make sure you bring some yourselves. The hotel doesn't have a laundry facility, but you can walk to a 24-hour, self service laundry shop about 10 minutes away. Due to its central location in the city, near a main junction and a banquet hall, it can be very noisy, especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The hotel does acknowledges this and provide free ear plugs upon requested. Our room was on the 2nd floor and away from the banquet hall (but you can still hear the traffic if you have the window opened), so we didnt have any trouble sleeping. They provide free afternoon tea.

Beautiful clean hotel - lovely design and furniture throughout. Very large rooms, ok breakfast. Liked that bottled water was provided and water plentiful around the hotel. Afternoon tea was a nice treat in the afternoons. Great location - easy to walk everywhere.
Only complaints would be the room always smelt musky - like it needed fresh air. And the hotel is next to an event space so it can be loud in the evenings from the event music and from event staff packing up after the event. During our stay there were 2 events on.
Overall, I would recommend.

Beautiful hotel with great helpful staff. Room was clean and lovely. Got afternoon tea, Barnstaple coffee and some laundry for free because of long stay. Close to everything but not in most touristy areas so close to local and tourist areas, markets, restaurants, shopping malls, etc.

The location of this hotel is very central to many, many local popular food stalls. They're walking distant away. This saved us a lot of stress. Even though there's no laundry facility in this hotel, there's a laundry shop nearby. It's within 10 minutes walking distance. So you can visit the city with a small luggage. Checkin was fast and the stuff was helpful. We were offered welcome drinks while waiting. It is located in the heart of the city, and the fact that they want to maintain the heritage theme of the hotel, sound proofing may not something they can control. To workaround this, they provide free earplugs upon requests. I dont think they have ventilation fan in the bathroom. We cracked the bathroom window open, turned on the ceiling and AC to create an airflow, which ventilated the bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is provided. Signal was strong and steady. The lighting in the rooms was a little bit dim. It feels romantic and cozy. This is to keep in line with the heritage theme of the hotel, i was told by the front desk. However, this can be a little bit challenging when you shave or put on your makeup. There's no gym in the hotel, so make sure you walk a lot to burn off the calories of your food intake. There's a restaurant in the hotel. If your room is close to it, it can be somewhat noisy from the clanking of dining wares and utensils (from 6am). All and all, I think it's a pretty good 4-star hotel.

The location of this hotel is very central to many, many local popular food stalls. They're walking distant away. This saved us a lot of stress. Even though there's no laundry facility in this hotel, there's a laundry shop nearby. It's within 10 minutes walking distance. So you can visit the city with a small luggage. Checkin was fast and the stuff was helpful. We were offered welcome drinks while waiting. It is located in the heart of the city, and the fact that they want to maintain the heritage theme of the hotel, sound proofing may not something they can control. To workaround this, they provide free earplugs upon requests. I dont think they have ventilation fan in the bathroom. We cracked the bathroom window open, turned on the ceiling and AC to create an airflow, which ventilated the bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is provided. Signal was strong and steady. The lighting in the rooms was a little bit dim. It feels romantic and cozy. This is to keep in line with the heritage theme of the hotel, i was told by the front desk. However, this can be a little bit challenging when you shave or put on your makeup. There's no gym in the hotel, so make sure you walk a lot to burn off the calories of your food intake. There's a restaurant in the hotel. If your room is close to it, it can be somewhat noisy from the clanking of dining wares and utensils (from 6am). All and all, I think it's a pretty good 4-star hotel.
