Super clean/safe and very nice location right in the heart of Thamel. Reasonable price with comfy bed. Really recommended! 적당한 가격에 엄청 깨끗하고 타멜내에 대형마트 옆 골목 끝에 위치 하고 있어서 찾기도 쉽고 안전했습니다. 다음에 네팔 방문에도 꼭 다시 이용할 예정.!

Hotel Excelsior is a great stay in an awesome location. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I have stayed here a number of times and always come back. Many thanks.

Arriving tired from the airport, we were told that, although TWO rooms were reserved and paid for through RBC, they only had been notified and received payment for ONE. Luckily they had one more room for our daughters. Unfortunately, it was over a club and very noisy til late at night. It was not practical to phone RBC since it was the middle of the night in Canada, nor did I want to spend an indefinite length of time on hold on a cell phone from Nepal so we took the path of least resistance and paid again on Visa for the second room for the length of our stay. I am now having unbelievable difficulty having this resolved. I spent almost 30 minutes on hold on the RBC assistance line only to be told they couldn’t help me and gave me an email address to use. I wrote a lengthy email explaining the situation and it could not be delivered because the address I was given does not exist!! I have nothing good to say about this experience with RBC travel rewards. The booking system for this hotel did not work and there is no recourse for me as a customer to obtain help!

Nice clean place. The room was quite well furnished and good plumbing. There's a rooftop restaurant and we had an amazing breakfast.. including a much better than average bacon and oatmeal. The only problem we had was the street was dug up for repairs and had to haul our bags for about 15 minutes.. but can hardly daily the hotel for that and im sure the construction is done by now.

Arrived late at night. Reservation was ready and checkin was quick and efficient. This is an older property but good condition. Room was clean and quiet. WiFi worked but was spotty.

All staff are really friendly and proactive to provide the solutions to client for their enquires and make me feel like home. Thanks so much!

Godt til prisen. I Nepal er standarden generel lav, så efter at have rejst rundt i to uger og boet med ret lav komfort var det skønt at slutte turen af med et rent og pænt badeværelse. Tagterrassen er rigtig fin og hyggelig. Her spiser man morgenmad og drikker god kaffe. Da jeg chekkede ind var der lige lidt startvanskeligheder, da jeg havde betalt for køleskab og morgenmad - det var de ikke helt enige med mig i, men de fixede det så fik både mit køleskab og morgenmad. Så alt i alt en fin oplevelse.

Very good value and excellently located in Tamil. The addition of opening the roof garden/restaurant is new since my last visit.

空港からプリペイドタクシーで7USD、タメル地区まで約30分。ホテルは細い路地の中にあるため、タクシーは横付けできず、途中降りてから3分程歩きます。市内観光なら、頑張ればどこでも歩いて行けるロケーションです。繁華街にあり、カフェ、和食屋、大型スーパー、両替屋などなんでも揃っています。若干古いですが、部屋は清潔です。特に各階5号室は角部屋で日当たり良いのでオススメ。寝心地良いベッド、WiFiサクサク快適、お湯が出るまで多少時間が掛かるシャワーは水圧抜群、熱々のお湯がふんだんに出て気持ち良いです。トイレはピストル式ウォシュレット完備。ただ初日にヘアドライヤーが無く、フロントで粘り強く交渉して用意してもらったので、チェックイン時に要確認です。最上階に景色良いレストランがあり、朝食も美味しく、特にチャイがオススメ。1泊3000円程度で宿泊できたので、コスパ良く大満足です。ホテルは寝るだけ、WiFi使い倒す、繁華街の中が良いという方にはオススメです。

My stay at Excelsior was so easy, from being picked up at the airport by hotel staff until the time I left. The reception, dining room and cleaning staff were friendly and responded to requests very quickly. My room was clean, and kept clean and tidy throughout my stay. I have stayed at the hotel whenever I travel to Kathmandu and enjoyed catching up with the same travelers from different countries who also stay there. I have traveled a lot in many countries and have found the hotel has the best shower I have had in my many years of staying in hotels. Looking forward to getting back to Kathmandu and staying at the Excelsior again.

Anfangs waren wir sehr begeistert vom Hotel. Es war sauber und die Zimmer sehr komfortabel. Am Abend aber dann merkte man, warum das doch sehr schöne Hotel nicht ausgebucht war. Es war bis in den Morgen sehr laut gewesen. Etwa 10 Meter entfernt ist eine Disco mit sehr lauter Musik. Auch hörte man zusätzlich meist am Wochenende sehr laute Livemusik. Da die Fenster nicht isoliert sind, war an Schlaf nicht zu denken. Am Ende unserer Trekking-Tour kehrten wir erneut in das Hotel zurück. Nun wurde uns gesagt, dass wir bei unserer ersten Buchung etwas höherpreisige Zimmer erhielten, so dass wir uns nun mit etwas einfacheren Standard-Rooms begnügen müßten. Das erste war nun, wir mußten vom Haupthotel in ein gegenüber liegendes Gebäude wechseln. Dort erhielten wir ein Doppelzimmer das etwa 4-6 qm groß war. Die Betten waren in L-Form aufgestellt u. es schien so, dass es zuvor wohl ein Einzelzimmer gewesen war, was nun zu einem Doppelzimmer umfunktioniert wurde. Dadurch, dass unsere beiden Koffer neben den Betten standen, konnten wir uns kaum im Zimmer bewegen. Das WC mit Dusche war ebenso klein.

using internet, help was there, accommodating me to 1st floor where I don't have to get fourth floor, for older person taxi availability breakfast food was great, inside hotel, sorry was not able to taste dinner wish there is more info on bus ride to Mt Everest overall my stay was just right, enough staff to give help when I needed

There are better value hotels in Thamel than this in quieter locations. No sleep to be had here. Room is grubby.

This hotels manager cheat with us he was told us your tatif hase 30 $ par days including all but last we have check out he told us your tariff hase 40 $ par day at last we have paid 120 $ for three days stayed

Basic but clean, in the middle of Thamel. Low price and simple room with hot water, bed, closet, desk. They changed the two single beds for a queen sized bed for me in a short time.

though hotel is situated in Thamel, You have to break your head to find this hotel. Rooms are not as good as shown in pictures. There are much better hotels in same vicinity. All the instruments in washrooms are age old and not at all in working situation. Stay was just ok over there. Suggestion could be, before booking the hotels check it with other hotels, if possible physically they only go for the rooms. They also do not provide parking space and charge for if done so which is big pain. Card machine also didn't work while making payment , so had to pay by cash.
