A fantastic two nights at the Lodge. Gabby was the most welcoming host - your smile could brighten any day! Cosy, comfortable, and peaceful. I felt so relaxed and at home. Thank you sooooo much!!

We have stayed at various places during our 3 week tour of the South Island, the Homestead Lodge was head and shoulders above everywhere else we stayed. It's a lovely place, the owners have worked hard to make it elegant, well-equiped, extremely well looked-after and friendly. The Homestead Lodge is a very pleasant walk along the lakeside into the town centre, with spectacular views the mountains. The owner couldn't have been more helpful, he even gave us a lift 12k to the start of a beautiful walk back into town. Make a point of talking to him, he will tell you the best places eat, where to get cheap petrol, where to find the best pastries and how to make the most of your stay. If you are interested in doing the Wanaka Park run, it's only about 100m to the start. It's a great place.

A beautiful property, felt like a little sanctuary. Close walk to Wanaka Lake and a lovely walk to downtown Wanaka.

Comfortable and nice location

My wife and I stayed in a room in the lodge. It was very comfortable. Alan welcomed us and when we asked for a second night, he was able to juggle the rooms so we could stay. We were close enough to town to walk to plenty of eateries and bars and the lake. Alan also provided loads of information about what to do and where to go while in the area.

Really nice room for a night stay and skiing near by. The room is modern with a nicely appointed bathroom. Restaurants are 3 min drive away. Walks around the lake is nearby. We walked for 20 minutes to the Rippon winery for a tasting. Excellent.

Our host Allan was very accommodating and friendly. The lodge was lovely, clean and inviting. I only wish we stayed more than one night to be able to explore all that the area has to offer!

Great location, friendly staff and very enjoyable

Very nice rooms, warm and cosy. Bed was big and comfortable. Staff were wonderful. Hot tub was private and seperate spaces for bbq and out door fire. Solid built place in a very nice setting of trees and lush grass. Easy walking to the lake, parks and to the township.

Friendly hosts, Allan and Kaaleen. Nothing was too much problem. Welcomed like friends and family. Comfortable nights sleep and a decadent breakfast with fresh baked cheese scones!

Staying at Wanaka Homestead is like visiting old friends. Kaalene and Allan were so kind and thoughtful. We felt genuinely cared for, and could have easily stayed for weeks. Breakfast is delicious, with nice variety. The property is lovely with a rustic vibe, yet completely modern, spacious, and comfortable. Our room felt both posh and homey; the kind of place you could happily laze in all day if it weren’t so nice to be outside. The location is ideal: close to town but not right in the hustle and bustle. From there, we enjoyed walks to the lake and into town. In fact, we so loved being there that we got take-away and enjoyed meals out on the patio or lawn tables. We never quite made it to the jacuzzi under the stars. Next time! We left rested and happy, feeling like we’d made life-long friends. We can’t wait to go back.
