The staff were incredible in all areas; warm, helpful, and insightful. I will quite likely return to the hotel in the Summer. All facilities were immaculate and the restaurant was fantastic.

Lovely property, with well decorated spaces. The room was quite large, with a very comfortable bed and a good shower. Picture perfect views from windows. Staff really welcoming, and happy to offer advice for dining options / local insider knowledge. Very good breakfast.

Great Design , good taste, great food, great service, nice vibe

Funken Lodge is a cozy and tidy hotel with a nice service, gym, sauna with a good breakfast, restaurant and concierge services. The room was nice, a bit small, but quiet and very comfy with a very good bed, at least for me. The hotel is located a nice walk uphills from Longyearbyen centre, shops, museums, and other services. The Airport shuttle and many trip buses pick up you just in the front of Funken Lodge. Svalbard is a unique place with a very beautiful, very sensitive environment, which should be respected and preserved with it's beautiful plants and animals. Before you travel, check the environmental programs of hotels and trips, notice that there are limited areas where you may walk independently due to polar bears especially in spring, that your travel & health care insurances are ok, and notice that Oslo Airport when you have to pick up your checked in luggage and recheck-in to Norwegian domestic flights? There is an additional security check at Oslo Airport when coming from non-Schengen area to Schengen transfer flights area, so reserve some additional time if you have connection flights in Oslo. Even in the summer time, take warm and weather-proof clothes with you, especially if you go to sea trips. The climate change unfortunately changes especially these areas, so think about the environment & compensate CO2 emissions when you travel. Despite the Svalbard's mining history, let's keep the last wild frontiers on the Earth as untouched as possible.

Beautiful boutique hotel with excellent breakfast! Loved our stay. One ask would be having lotion in the bathrooms since it is so dry.

Had a great stay here. The staff were very nice as were the rooms. The restaurant is excellent.

High class hotel with great staff, good breakfast and comfortable bed. Stayed in standard room which is small but very well decorated and in top condition. Mini bar and nice shower. Restaurant is fine dining and great food and service.

absolutely first rate hotel and service, One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. A bit pricey, but quality was unmatched. Perfect location, Far enough outside of town to avoid the masses of tourists, but close enough to walk within 10 minutes. Restaurant/food was amazing, but menu was a bit short.

An amazing place to stay in Longyearbyen! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice. The breakfast is delicious. Don't miss the food and drinks in the Funken Bar, which is excellent!

Marit was an exceptional hostess and offered to drive us to the bus stop twice and was an absolute delight! I’m sorry we weren’t able to meet Bjorn, but we would absolutely stay here again!

Oberhalb Longyearbyens gelegen, historischer Ort und wirklich sehr geschmack- und stilvoll eingerichtet. Nette MitarbeiterInnen, leckeres Frühstück. Nach Schiffsreise ein paar Tage im Hotel und der tollen Umgebung genossen.

Beste stedet man kan bo på Svalbard. Er på Svalbard flere ganger pr år. Har forsøkt alle alternativene. Funken er der du vil bo.

Vi hadde det veldig fint. Hyggelig personale i resepsjon, restaurant og renholdere. Vi hadde et flott rom med god plass som vi er veldig fornøyde med. Ikke alltid vi unner oss denne prisklassen, men i år er vårt jubileumsår- så da ble det slik. Nydelige frokoster i flott lokale. Vi spiste middag en gang på restauranten/ og reinsdyrkjøttet var noe av det beste vi har smakt, men det kunne ha vært tilbud om limer ved siden av med ved siden av - selv om det som var med var nydelig. Vi hadde en fantastisk servitør.

Loved it. Great staff; great location - probably the best hotel one can stay with superb breakfast and beautiful views. My daughter forgot her bag just when we arrived at the airport - I called the hotel and immediately they sent a staff with ny daughters bag and declined compensation. What and excellent service. Thank you and hope to see you sooner
