Excellent experience!!

Upon arrival, the staff was super-friendly, happy to assist two foreigners who had come to Norway for the first time. They provided directions to sites, made dinner reservations for us and answered every one of our myriad of questions with a smile. The fact that the hotel's location is perfect for a visit to Oslo, and serves up a wonderful breakfast buffet, just adds to our complete satisfaction.

The room was nicely decorated and well equipped with tea & coffee making facilities, and fridge. Plenty of sockets and mirrors close by. The breakfast every morning was 1st class with plenty of choice and plentiful gluten-free options for those that need this. Staff were always very pleasant and extremely helpful. The hotel was well situated for attractions and for public transport. We enjoyed our stay very much and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again should we visit Oslo a second time.

Hotel was perfect for us. We were welcomed straight away and the staff were really helpful regards my gluten free diet. Out hotel room overlooked the main street where we saw the tram go by on a regular basis. The room was spacious and clean, and included a small fridge for drinks, a safe and electric kettle. Our bed was extremely comfortable and also had two separate single duvets. There was a gym on the second floor which we did not use as too busy and on the eighth floor a very large lounge area with comfortable seating and coffee machine for you to relax with. Breakfast was fantastic, a real treat with huge choices and excellent quality. Those like me that are gluten free and lactose free, there is a separate table with toaster, various bread, cake and cereal selection. The quality of the food was excellent and on most days breakfast started at 6.30. The highlight for us were the friendly staff, always smiling and very helpful. All the attractions are close by and with the tram stop outside the hotel, it is easy to travel distance, walk to the ferries and use the metro. We downloaded the Oslo pass and bought the pass for 72 hours, cost 985 kroner each which is roughly £76. This pass covered train from airport to central station, metro and tram journeys, plus a lot of attractions. A good use of the ticket apart from attractions is the use of the ferries, B1 ferry is an hour around the islands and cheaper than Oslofjords cruises. Thankyou to everyone for a fantastic stay.

I’ve stayed at Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz twice recently for a total of 4 nights, and both visits were genuinely outstanding. The hotel is already known for its comfort, great location, and excellent breakfast—but what really sets it apart is the people. A special thank‑you to Martine at the reception desk, who was consistently warm, thoughtful, and helpful (thank you for the fan, shortcut to airport train connection, and for storing my luggage while I did a sidetrip). She greeted me with genuine kindness on both stays and offered clear, practical guidance that made navigating Oslo very easy. She created a relaxed atmosphere throughout my stay and her professionalism and warmth truly elevated my experience. The breakfast is highly rated for a reason—fresh, generous, beautifully presented, and one of the best I’ve had at any hotel. I also want to acknowledge the friendly woman working in the breakfast area, whose cheerful welcome each morning added such a nice touch. Although not crucial to my vacation, but definitely convenient for keeping up with news, this hotel had the best, most easily navigated TV system of any hotel in my 2 weeks of travel. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz to anyone visiting Oslo.

Our friend wanted to join for breakfest but they refused claiming there is no room. Small effort and understanding how we felt sending her to a caffe would have helped

The breakfast was amazing with wide ranging selections : cheeses, 2 kinds of smoked salmon, salami and other meats, fresh fruits, juices, gluten free options, yogurt, granola, seeds, boiled and scrambled eggs. There are more I didn’t list. The staff helped us with reservations and helped me find a lost water bottle. The lounge had coffee, tea and trail mix. Nice sitting area.

The staff are wonderful- the breakfast manager , the servers, the staff at the front desk. Each and everyone I dealt with at the hotel went the extra mile.

My partner and I spent 2 nights at Thon Hotel Rozencrantz in downtown Oslo. The area was full of restaurants, bars and city attractions. It was a little noisy on a Saturday evening as there was a festival in the street that day and many people were out in the streets celebrating. It was very easy to get to the hotel from the airport and to walk from the hotel to most of the attractions we were interested in. The room was very lovely and the beds were very comfortable. Our stay included an excellent breakfast buffet with a lovely selection of hot and cold food. I would recommend this hotel to others.
