Our stay at Dumaluan was okay. Room (specifically the bath tub) We arrived there at almost 3pm and when we went to our room, the mattresses were still at the balcony being prepared. Considering that their check-in time was 2pm, they should have prepared our room beforehand. Next was the bath tub. What made the Deluxe room different from the others was that this room had a bathtub making this room more expensive but the thing is, we never got to use it because it did not have a stopper. We reported it and the front desk receptionist said she’ll send someone to fix it. When the staff arrived, I thought they were going to bring a spare stopper or something but instead, they brought in a rubber cutout from a slipper. to serve as a stopper!! I did not pay extra for a bath tub with a DIY stopper from a slipper! I don’t know if it was new or used but it is very unsanitary to use something like that. Now that the issue with the stopper was “fixed”, we went ahead and filled up the tub. Now, when it was halfway full, we saw that the overflow faceplate was broken! Looking at the broken overflow faceplate, it seemed like it had rust and dirt inside so we did not bother using the tub at all. Had we known that the tub could not be used, we would not have booked this room and booked the cheaper rooms instead. Feel like we wasted our money on this room. Food Don’t get me wrong. The food was okay but I wish they’d change the menu everyday so that people who stay for more the 2days won’t get to eat the same food every single day. Went to Dumaluan when I was 23 and when I came back last month, they still served the same menu. Also, they should not display food that are not part of the buffet. When we ate there, we thought that the mangoes, bananas etc. were part of the buffet. Nobody bothered to tell us. We were shocked when the waitress showed us our bill. She then informed us that the mango and the banana we took were not part of the buffet. It would help if Dumaluan placed a sign or something or better yet, not put food that is not part of the buffet at all as to not confuse people. My comment is just for the buffet. Food at the restaurant was very good. For some reason, the "paid" garlic rice tasted better than the free one from the buffet. Overall, my experience was great even though I encountered the issues I mentioned above. I like the fact that the beach area was very very clean (even better than the more expensive resorts nearby), the pool was clean, the resort was clean, the food was delicious (not the buffet though, sorry) and the location was also very accessible. I hope Dumaluan continues to clean their beach area because I think that’s what sets them apart from the other resorts.
