AVOID AT ALL COSTS - WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANY HOTEL OTHER THAN THE ION HOTEL. How did this hotel manage to pass a health inspection when it fails at even the basics of hospitality? The lobby restrooms were poorly maintained and had very dim lighting. Toilet caulkings were yellow/black; everything reeked of a public urinal. Concierge never offered to take our luggage to our room. We were brought to our booked room - which happened to be the closest one to the elevators. Upon entering, the first impression was noticeably dark and dusty. Initial inspection showed dust on every surface - including the door handle. A section of the flooring had a deteriorated hole. Nearby the floor hole and the entrance were several dead bugs (probably termites). A blacklight test showed stains all over the sheets - disgusting; absolutely unacceptable! We went back to the lobby to complain and, after they spoke to their manager, they offered a free upgrade to a suite. After about 15 minutes for them to prep the suite, we were guided up to check it out (again, the suite closest to the elevator). Spacious, but failed the blacklight test - again, stains all over the sheets and pillows. We bolted out and declined the offer. It seemed like none of their rooms were thoroughly prepared and inspected (even after stating we're checking in late). We took video footage of both rooms as proof. Apparently, this hotel used to be a Holiday Inn, but was reclaimed under new management - hence "grand opening".
