Not worth your money.
Warning: this is a long post.
We chose to book a room in this hotel for 4D3N for our Coron trip since it looks good online. In reality, our over all experience was a disaster!
Incompetent receptionist:
We arrived in the hotel in the afternoon straight from the airport, booked for a deluxe double room with a sea view but the receptionist said there's none available. Same suggested for a room on the other side of the hotel but we didn't want it since there is an ongoing construction beside it. Noise is the least we want while having our vacation. Then the other receptionist said they may accommodate us for a superior room instead since it's not occupied anyway, but the other one was hesitant and cannot decide. Here comes the tour guide then, collecting us for our town tour and we are still stuck in the front desk tired from flight and with all our luggage. I asked receptionist now what happens then she answered, "kayo Maam?" like she was expecting us to proceed with our tour without settling this and how about our luggage? Her response and the look on her face was so irritating. The other receptionist asked the bell boy to check a certain room if it was okay. After a few minutes the bellboy came back and said the room on 3rd floor is ok. I asked again if we have a room now because we wouldn't want to keep the others on the tour waiting for us. I asked, "anong room po?" she answered, "sa third floor po" (yes i just heard it's on the 3rd floor) so i asked again same question and she kept answering "sa 3rd floor po." what's the room number? that's when she got it. It's our first time in Coron and in the hotel, and they don't even have an elevator. Did she expect us to just roam around the 3rd floor? That's when the bellboy interrupted and initiated to get the keys and show us the way.
Second day, that receptionist was never courteous, not even a good morning greeting. Just on her phone, head down in the front desk. Contrary to the evening/night receptionist which is Ms Joy, she is very accommodating and greets everyone. I asked her if she can arrange our airport transfer upon check out and she helped us with it. The following night before heading to bed she even reminded us about our airport transfer and collection time from 7:00- 7:30 am.
Our last day in the hotel, we woke up early and were down in the dining before 6:30am, we told the kitchen staff that we are catching a 9am flight so they served breakfast on time and let us have our coffee and toast while waiting for the proper breakfast food. 7am we are already checked out down in the lobby again with this receptionist. She had us paid for our airport transfer and told us to wait in the couch. It was already 7:40 but nobody was collecting us. We approached her and asked, she said they might just be late and told us to wait. I was keeping myself calm so after 5 minutes and there was still no van, my companion told her to follow up whoever is in charge to bring us to the airport. That's when i saw her made a phone call. She turned to us and said "coming na daw po, pa wait na lang po. 30 mins lang naman po papunta airport" (That's exactly what we have been doing... waiting!) The van arrived at 8:12, we were panicking already if we will make it on time. It was only us in the van because according to the driver, they were just called by the hotel and clients who were for airport transfer were already picked up from 7am and were brought to the airport. The driver rushed our way to the airport we felt like flying in the narrow streets of 20kms Coron-Busuanga. I was praying all the time not to meet a road accident. We arrived at 8:28am, thank God we made it before boarding because the plane was on time. So what happened? What if we were not eager enough to follow up the receptionist. It is the duty of the morning receptionist to check and follow up, coordinate with their transport service partner for their guests who are scheduled for an airport transfer regardless if it was handed over to her by the night staff or not. And she knows from the very start our flight details.
Room:
The superior room was clean. Bed wasn't that comfortable, little bit hard on the back. No slippers. Aircon flooded water inside. We asked for room cleaning on the 3rd day but they seem to have only fixed the bedding and did not change them because fitted sheet still had the toothpaste stain. They changed the towels though, and they were the cheap ones (refer to the photo). Not the value we've paid for. And they just placed a towel as well on the flooded floor (refer to the photo). The toilet was not cleaned, sink wasn't touched at all; toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo were not refilled. Tissue papers were just placed on the table. Water supply in the faucet and shower is low. At some point, the cable tv wasn't working. They did not even have tv channels list in the room, receptionist doesn't even know what channel is abs-cbn. I have been to myriads of hotels and this is just not the way, even to the budget hotels; among the pricey hotels in Coron, it is not acceptable.
Wifi:
Wifi is only available in the lobby and has a very poor/slow connection.
Food:
Almost repeated breakfast menu but tastes good and passable. Kitchen staff were friendly and happy to be of service.
Location:
Good. Near the port, market, and local restaurants. You're always one of the last to be collected during the tour since it's near the port.
Safety:
I haven't seen any security guard. Only the older man bellboy who was very good to everyone and accommodating. No safety deposit box in the room. Just lock your baggage when out. Key room, not electronic card. Area surrounding the hotel is somehow congested.
Electricity:
There were few times that electricity was cut off and some guests had to stay in the lobby and fan themselves.
Hotel and the management needs more improvement. Staff needs more training.
