Stayed here a few times and the breakfast is excellent!

On a positive note the hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and there was a small bar for use if required. I had standard double room which was comfortable and clean. Only minor moan was the bathroom was a bit small but that would not prevent me from staying at the corner house again. I only had breakfast on the last morning as I was out very early on other days which was a shame as the breakfast I did have was very good nicely cooked and plenty of choice. Evening meals were not available, which was also a shame as I heard that the food served at the corner house is very good indeed. Overall a good choice if your visiting the area on either business or pleasure.

It was a lovely hotel the only problem was 21 steps up to reception and bedrooms on the same floor would stay here again staff so helpful

Advertise that there will be earplugs due to the noise. Lots of noise, no earplugs.

Its not the most salibrious hotel on the planet but it is punching way above its weight in terms of friendliness, service, and the breakfast was really well delivered. Possibly the best cup of coffee I've had in scotland outside a major city!

Nice place to stay after long drive from Devon

I suspect most of the positive reviews of this property on Expedia are fake. To start off, the girl at the front desk tried to claim that we needed to pay £100 pounds more for our room for the night, despite the fact that we had already paid the roughly £80 cost of the room already through Expedia, she claimed that refreshing her computer screen made the apparent massive price difference go away. The room we received was at the far end of the hotel right beside/ above a extremely noisy sports bar, with loud rambunctious crowds into the wee hours of the night. When we went to use the shower, it was almost impossible to get a suitable temperature of water, it was either freezing cold or scalding hot, and then not long into the shower, it would just stop completely for no reason, making showering almost impossible. The room itself is extremely dated and worn out, and quite cramped. The bed also was in very poor shape, to the point where you would sink right thru the mattress. There also was effectively no parking available in the lot for the hotel as it was full of bar patrons vehicles.

Would have been so much better but its advertised with a restaurant but does not do food after breakfast!. Unfortunatly neither do the pubs in the town after 7pm, so had to have a take away!!
