Holiday Inn EDINBURGH by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Too noisy even at late night. No control from Hotel. Breakfast was just normal, but not enough for that rate.

Room was clean but sloghtly dusty on the end tables and the table and desk. The bed was a little to soft and molded in the wrong places for my mother and i whe are on the taller side. But all the main areas were very clean and service was great.

I booked a double bedroom and they gave us a twin bedroom. The room was not cleaned properly. Especially the bathroom and the toilet. I needed to call the reception and ask for sending the cleaners to clean the toilet. That was very bad.

Staff was very friend

This was a very comfortable place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food at the hotel was really good. It's right on a bus line with easy access to the city and the train station. We highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is well located for the zoo, city centre and airport with very good bus services to and from the city centre. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. However the rooms are very dated, particularly the bathroom which urgently requires refurbishment and modernisation. We had a ‘premium’ room which, was not very premium.

Not impressed really at nearly £200 we had no Wi-Fi, one large bath towel between us. The smart tv obviously didn’t work due to the fact we had no Wi-Fi. Wouldn’t of cared that much but wife was poorly on the day of the trip so we only went out for a few hours in the afternoon and thought we’d just relax in the hotel. At £195 you expect the minimum or Wi-Fi and a full set of towels. It’s a great example of when hotel prices are inflated in the area you end up massively overpriced stays for average hotels. All in all the hotel is fine, I just wish I didn’t bother on this particular weekend as i don’t feel the hotel/room was worth anymore than £120 max! I work away and stay in hotels most of the week so I know what fair prices are for average hotels

The hotel is ideally situated between the airport and city centre. It’s about 15 minutes by car into the centre of Edinburgh, however there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel on the main road which takes you directly through to Edinburgh Waverley station. We wanted to visit the zoo so it was a perfect choice for us. Check in was quick and easy, the front desk is friendly and very helpful. Our rooms were clean, quiet and amply stocked with tea and coffee. Towels were abundant and housekeeping did a light clean of the room everyday. We had a decent sleep, the hotel itself is fairly quiet however our rooms overlooked a car park and occasionally we would be disturbed by the sounds of work vans in the morning- we had the windows cracked open so you can always close them and turn on the a/c if needed. Breakfast was standard with hot and cold options available. The hotel also offers a selection of Starbucks coffees to purchase and these are available all day. Overall our stay was very pleasant and I would recommend to anyone considering this as a place to stay.

The room is small, and the bathroom design is inconvenient – water splashes out easily when showering. The corridor looks old, lighting is dim, and there’s no fridge in the room. Overall, it feels more like a 3-star hotel. Staff were not helpful or friendly."

Brilliant service by staff, location was ideal. Buses were available to city centre. Jacuzzi, heated pool and the gym facilities were excellent. We had booked this for our first girls trip to Edinburgh. The rooms were clean and tidy. The breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of choice. Loved staying here and will definitely be coming back to this hotel if we visit again.

extremely dirty. corridor was always smelling of sweat. They would mask it with room freshner! A/C did not work well

Hotel rooms obviously been refreshed fairly recently but bathrooms are tired and a hair on the shower screen that wasn’t mine a little unnerving! Lifts are cosy, food JUST this side of acceptable but really at this price it should be better

Reserved a double bed and was put in a room with two smaller ones The breakfast buffet was good with limited choice the resturant for dinner I would probably skip next time. Over all though nice location right in front of the zoo and the staff were all friendly and helpful
