Really friendly ladies at reception. I slept for 8 hours solid, i never sleep that long in my own bed!, so mattress with very comfortable and I'll be getting one.Room was very nice.

It got off to an unfortunate start! I had stayed a few years ago and had a very nice clean warm room - this time when I arrived I had been given a very unattractive room and just felt very let down - there was even signs that someone had not flushed the lavatory. I felt so strongly I went down to reception and eventually spoke to someone in authority who was very understanding and helpful and moved me to another room - just like the one I had had before. So it turned out o.k. I think there had been a little misunderstanding with the girl I spoke to first.
I do not have a smart phone and am too old to learn new tricks but I did not understand how when I made the booking online I had made the booking not directly with Holiday Inn - I will try to remember to go to IHG next time. I had, for complicated reasons, wanted to cancel my second night (the party I had come up from Edinburgh for was suddenly a lunch not a dinner!) but was unable to because I had apparently and unwittingly booked through some other agent. Lesson learned I hope! Apart from that, I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express to others. Nice room (eventually!) and hearty breakfast.

It was perfect the only issue i had was where the heater had been put, the corner of the heater was under the desk so u couldn't see the buttons to turn it on or set the temperature

Typical from the brand. Purposeful and spotlessly clean room and shower room. Comfortable bed and quiet sleep. However there was no one on check In when we arrived and a queue formed with none of us being checked in. Cutlery supplies non existent. One girl doing her best to do everything but with a busy breakfast room she could’ve done with help !

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, good hotel breakfast, central location, good bed, great price.
Cons: Worn-out room, thin walls (very noisy).
I stayed at this hotel for 5 days, and there’s a lot to like, although there are some major downsides. For the size of the hotel, the breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful, and always gave me a warm welcome at breakfast. The bed was comfortable, and the room cleaning was good.
The room was one of the cheaper options in the city, so you can’t expect too much. I was placed in room 101, a handicap-accessible room. Although the room was spacious, it was worn-out. The bathroom was especially outdated and in need of a serious upgrade.
The worst part about the room was the noise. It was very noisy between the room, the hallway, and other rooms. You could clearly hear the neighboring room's TV, conversations, and other activities.
If you’re sensitive to noise, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. However, if occasional noise isn’t a big deal for you, this is overall a very good deal for the price, as you get everything you need at an affordable rate. I’ll choose this hotel again the next time I’m in Aberdeen.
