The apartment was dilapidated. Not all facilities were open, only the formal restaurant for dining. No wifi in apartment

Staff friendly

Travelling as a single person i felt that staff didnt give a crap about me. Put into the worst apartment. Music blasting from kitchen 9am until 9pm, could hear it in all rooms of apartment but especially in bedroom. Staff did nothing when complained Food in restaraunt was very poor especially for the price. Would rather go to wetherspoons. Honestly the worst steak i have ever seen. Complained to waiter but he didnt listen and walked off. Bar staff just said they were busy so thats whats expected. The hotel grounds are lovely. Very close to hiking trails which was great. Staff didnt know about any of this and offered me a map from closest town. Pool/gym are great.

It was excellent stay travel with family and it feel comfortable stay

The location around the loch was great. The staff was really nice and helpful. The room itself was spacious with two bathrooms. The main bed was hard but good. The second bed was terrible. It was folded away in the main closet in the living room. The mattress was too short and very thin. With a minor investment a good sleeping couch would make it very nice and at least 5 stars. But since the whole purpose of a room is sleeping I have it a lower score. The interior was a bit outdated but very clean, spotless and comfortable.

Great location, lovely hotel and staff, shame that it’s been let go, needs huge investment

Rooms were supposed to be ready 5pm, which is fairly late by many hotel standards, nevertheless rooms weren't available until around 7pm. Nice apartments with great views, but no elevators and no help with luggage up 3 floors.

Superbe propriété aux abord du Loch Ard. Patio pour prendre l’apéro avec magnifique vue sur les montagnes et le loch. Tout près du village d’Aberfoyle avec foule d’activité pour les familles (location de vélo des 5 ans!), belles balades en forêt et baignade en rivière ou lac. Nous étions dans le secteur au Red Maple de l’hôtel. Très belle vue sur le Loch de la terrasse. Très spacieux et bien équipé. Petit look vintage des années 90s au niveau de notre condo. Pourrait mérité une petite rénovation éventuellement, mais dans l’ensemble nous avons adoré.

Lovely location and comfortable. Our loch side lodge was clean but very dated and the showers were not very effective. Changing rooms in spa also quite shabby.

Unfortunately we did not have internet for 3 nights. And despite informing the hotel mutiple times they promised us to fix it the follwoing day and on the following day it still was not fixed which was extremely inconvenient as we had no coverage on our cellphone.

What a retreat. Lives out stay and lived the accommodations. So great for my family of 4 adults.

Lovely location , but with two children there were no dining facilities on offer as the Rafters Bar was not open. The villa was clean and well equipped.

The location is very good. apartment is average, old looking and dark. stairs leading up to the apartment was unclean and filthy. Front door key was fiddly and difficult to open most of the times. Sauna was nice and the most important plus point in the apartment.

The hotel is dated but the setting is amazing. The view from our room made anything else not matter

We booked this hotel at the last minute rather than going into Glasgow. It's unique. Hard to describe really. Our apartment not only had a kitchen and three bathrooms, but also a fully functioning sauna. the rugs were a bit dingy but overall it was amazing. the staff could not be more helpful or pleasant. We only ate at the restaurant once for a Caesar salad, and I might skip that. the grounds are stunning as you can see in the photos. A couple things you might want to know. It is VERY remote. it's 20 minutes on single track to get to aberfoyle, the closest very small town. But we did go to Ballard, a bit farther and took the train into Glasgow from there one day, Also wonderful access to Loch Loman and Loch Katrine and Sterling. Also the Expedia website says that the hotel does not have a reception desk and that there is no check in after 7 pm. This is not true. Wonderful reception open all hours.

It was okay

Loved our stay. Theres everything in the apartment you possibly need even a sauna!!!!. There's indoor pool facilities and gym however we didn't get a chance to use it. Loved the view from the room.. so peaceful..would love to visit again..Theres a coop and wool mill nearby. Watersport opposite the site entrance.

The hotel is lovely but is run down and in need of a facelift. I cannot fault it on the cleanness. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its location is superb! If you want to play tennis, the courts are terrible and in desperate need of resurfacing.

The self catering accommodation was great for our family of four. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms with a lovely balcony and view across the water. The weather was wonderful which made our stay really special. The accommodation was excellent value for money given we visited during the Easter break, we are already planning when to head back. Lots of things to do including lovely walks, boat trips and even some wild swimming although the water was cold as we were told by some local swimmers that the water temp was impacted by melted snow peaks. Expect it to be at a more agreeable temperature from May. Food at the hotel seemed expensive so we ate locally or dined in as there was a full kitchen. Lots of places to visit to enjoy eating out with the Faerie Tree Inn and their chicken fajitas being a particular highlight. The pool on site was great for families but filled up quickly, there were points where it felt too busy to enjoy but it didn’t stop us visiting it every day! Spa treatment options available. I indulged in a luxurious facial which I would highly recommend. We had a lovely break, plenty of time for adventure and relaxation. Would recommend.
